Not to wax nostalgic for days of yore, but damn, in retrospect my father lucked out. She was a beauty, faithful, kept her house well, and was a blessing to my kids as an example of an adult and mother. I fathered six daughters and every one said that they wanted to be like grandma, and specifically that they did NOT want to be like their mother. I want to think that it's contemporary culture that's fucking us over. That the day may come again when women aren't perpetual 'victims'.
