Donald Trump ran a criminal campaign aided by a treasonous collaboration with a hostile foreign tyrant, and the American people rejected him by a hefty margin. But he intends to take power anyway through a technicality, with every intention of radically assaulting our liberty and security despite the will of the people.
We cannot allow such a coup - the stakes are too high. This Is Not A Game (TINAG). This is a forum for discussing what to do about it.
Rules
(1). No advocating violence. Given the nature of the threat to our republic and individual liberty, civil defense preparations are a valid and encouraged topic, however uncomfortable they may be. But the goal is to preserve civil society, not destabilize it further.
(2). No surrender. Yes, the election is over, and Donald Trump fucking LOST. If you have a problem with this fact, go learn how to count and learn what democracy is, but otherwise this is not the place for you. Do not refer to Trump as "President-elect" or "President," because those titles are reserved for people who win elections or take office through succession. If you link to an article whose title applies those terms, change the title.
(3) No blame-games. If you think we have time to reformulate election strategies, you don't understand how urgent the situation is. The likelihood of free and fair elections persisting on the federal level under a Trump regime are dubious, so the focus is on directly confronting and disrupting criminal power. Election-oriented posts are acceptable, but there are already a lot of other people focusing on that.
(4) No Trazis. Arguing with pathological liars is fruitless in a community focused on action.
The purpose of this sub is about forming connections and acting to prevent the Trump regime from taking power, but also preparing to resist one should those efforts fail.
We deal in complex ideas and scary realities, but our goal is to achieve justified hope through concrete accomplishment, not sing ourselves to sleep.
