  • Starting to get a good run of form going - 4 wins on the bounce in the PL and a reat opportunity to make it 5 against Middlesbrough. Should continue to make ground on Top 4 if we do so

  • Pogba was fantastic again and it seems other people are starting to recognise this now which should mean he won't get as much flak

  • Zlatan didn't have a fantastic game but then suddenly turned it on and scored a nicely finished goal and put in a wonderful cross for...

  • ...Mkhi's amazing goal. Offside schmoffside, it was an incredible goal and should go down as such

Zlatan's 17th goal of the season, same as top scorer Martial last season.

City play Liverpool at the weekend.

He had one run in particular from the left to inside that looked liked a flash of last season. Serious talent and I hope we get to see more of that. He's so young and with players like Pogba, Ibra, Rooney and Mhiki to learn from he's only going to get better.

Mikhi's goal was great but Blind's goal was also great. Started on the opposite side of the field with a throw in, 13 passes later it was on the other side with our LB drilling it home in the bottom corner.

The movement was very foreign as someone who has been lulled to sleep the past couple of years of possession ball. Best intensity I have seen us play in years.

What I love most about this season is that, despite the draws, we're completely dominating games at home. We're having 20 or more shots against the weaker teams and hitting double fits in terms of shots against the bigger teams. As Mkhi, Pog and Ibra hit their strides, this should turn into a greater goal difference in the coming month or two.

Ibra, Mkhi and Pogba aside; the most positive thing for me by far was Blind scoring a quality goal. Like, the former three you expect to produce the quality but to be champions you need a few from the more defensive minded midfielders and defenders too and that usually doesn't happen until the mentality of the team has changed so much that the self-belief of the leaders has trickled down the ranks.

So for me personally that's massive. Add to that Mkhi's outrageous goal and Jesse's sublime assist the match before that, and the signs are there that the team is finally starting to become greater than the sum of its parts.

We have this unpleasant knack of conceding goals from rejected bin-dippers. Hope we put an end to that. I feel for big Dave, if he is to rightfully get his golden glove we have to do something about conceding a goal or two even when winning the game comfortably.

Mkhi should have earned himself the right to be one of the first few names on the teamsheet when fit, we looked so much more threatening once he came on. That being said, boxing day football was a treat.

We've played well but we haven't been able to get the results we ought to but now we seem to churning out the much needed wins. The team looks like it's beginning to click. Let's take it one match at a time but the Middlesborough game should be very much doable if we continue to play like we have in the past few games.

Mkhi's just coming back from an injury. It was obvious that Mou didn't want to risk playing him for the entire 90 mins right away.

  • 20 games left – potentially 60 points left to be gained.

  • This game was an absolute joy to watch. Thanks Mourinho for choosing to play attacking football!

  • We did seem a bit sleepy for a while in the first half, Sunderland had about 20 minutes or so were they were close to score. Thankfully DDG did at least one really good save, and with the help of Rocko and Jones we kept (almost) everything else out.

  • Pickford also had a BIG save against Zlatan, and did overall really well, again the keeper to our opponent was their best performer. (Seems to be the case when we play at home.)

  • The substitutions was on point. – Lingard seemed to drop in intensity and got frustrated (along with most of our team). He also again should have done better with at least one oppurtunity – he keeps skying oppurtunities. Lingard seems to do incredible for one game after he hasn’t played for a while – he does so well that he gets another shot, but becomes more anonymous. Seems to be a very useful player for tactical reasons. I think Mata gave a good shift, but you got to give it to Martial and Mkhitaryan, they completely changed the atmosphere and the game – what a stormer they showcased.

  • Blind did great to not have gotten a shot in a while. Great awareness to grab the ball from Zlatan and score.

  • Our midfield is amazing. Herrera did seem more anonymous or frustrated yesterday than he has been, but Pogba is absolutely incredible. He tears up the league – unlucky that he doesn’t have more goals. I like that Carrick can stay back, because when he then needs to sprint after a ball he seem to cope with it the required pace from our opponents, until he gets aid from his teammates.

  • There is a reason why I wanted Zlatan to come over here. The player & club combination seems to be made for eachother.

Alright lads, due to me being drowned in my own vomit yesterday, I totally forget we had a game to play. How did we do generally? Did we look solid going forward?

I was ecstatic when I checked the scores but the Arsenal late winner is a big downer. Fucking lanky giroud with another late goal and west brom just lubing up and bending over for them!!!!
