I used to think that all NiMH rechargeable batteries were the same. Then, I got Eneloop batteries, and I realized how wrong I was. Any NiMH battery will take a charge and show that it's full immediately afterwards. The question is, how long does that last? For a lot of the batteries that I have, including those from Duracell, Energizer, and AmazonBasics, the answer is "not very long." Put the charged batteries in the drawer, check them the next day, and there's noticeable power loss.

Not so with the Eneloop batteries. You can charge these and keep them on hand, and if the power goes out, you'll have usable batteries. That's a great thing.

P.S. I wrote the same review for the AA and AAA versions of the Eneloop Fourth Generation battery because I got them together and saw the same results in both.

I don't know if the newest versions are better than the older (white) ones, but eneloop batteries are by far the best rechargeable batteries on the market! I'm a full-time wedding and portrait photographer and use these to power all of my speedlights for location session. They hold thier charge FOREVER when packed away in the off season.

Seem to be the same as previous versions. Never had a failure, I recharge after every shoot ( photographer) so I don't let them run all the way down,. I use them in my Canon 600EXrt speedlights in slave mode for hours on end ( off camera flash)

We've been using eneloop rechargeable batteries for years now, and we love them. We no longer buy any other brand of battery. They work just great in all our electronics, even those which recommend alkaline-only. They haven't "worn out" even after years of use and recharging... even those we bought over 5 years ago are still in active rotation. We haven't had to discard (or recycle) ANY of our eneloops yet!

Came in cardboard & plastic blister pack like you would see at a store. They appear to be genuine Panasonic to my eyes. I bought the colored coded batteries to help keep the sets separated. I have white Eneloops from several years ago as well. Charged them on a La Crosse BC-700 & BC-1000 charger. The dark blue batteries took 1100 mah of charge and the light blue batteries took 700 mha of charge. So I can't say the factory did a great job of pre-charging them as stated on the blister pack. I can find no dates anywhere on the batteries or the packaging so they could have been around for a while, no way to tell. The blue covering on the batteries tore pretty easy on 3 of the batteries when removing them from the charger. They are shiny silver colored underneath the blue Eneloop cover if anybody cares. I took off one star for the unknown date of manufacture and only being 50% to 70% pre-charged.
Mine came from MyBatterySupplier with a 4 battery plastic holder -no problems or issues. I would order from them again.

I buy and try many different brands of rechargeable batteries, and so far eneloop has been the best. Yes, they cost a bit more, and I really don't like to spend that much, but I've gotten my money's worth out of them. These days, it's all I buy.

These are the only rechargeable batterys that I will buy. Too bad too many electronic gadgets specify not to use rechargable batteries. They still work ok ,but things tend to get a little hot in some applications.

This is my third order for these batteries. First with AAA & AA + charger.,,great! Ordered another 12 which I also used. Needed 4 more for my new electric salt & pepper grinder, so this time I ordered another 16. I never realized how many batteries I used. I should be all set now. If you take inventory of how many batteries you have in your home, these make so much since (and we don't have children in our house) Christmas is coming. Invest in these soon. You'll be glad you did. They would make smart stocking stuffers from Santa. (You can tell I'm a Gramma). Cheers! The only reason I gave this 4 stars is that it was supposed to come with a battery holder. It's a plastic case that holds 4 batteries. Woohoo. I have 32 which are mostly used but it should at least have a bolder that holds whatever you ordered. I'll find a use but I was a little miffed😳
