Just got banned from posting on r/conservative this morning for arguing with a clearly ignorant poster. I'm not going to claim I was a model of politeness and civility, but I don't think I was anywhere close to excessive. Feel free to check out my post history and tell me if I seem overly rude.
Point is, I'm now banned from r/conservative, r/thedonald, and r/conspiracy. All subs, that among other things, make fun of safe spaces, claim liberals are illogical, talk about free speech, and are very vocal with their own beliefs. And yet I can't actually engage them in debate without them physically stopping me from talking. I'm actually a little pissed. I enjoy debate, and have learned a lot from it. Many of my beliefs have been formed from vigorous discussion with people of opposing views. And yet conservatives WON'T EVEN ALLOW ME TO DEBATE. Sure, it reinforces my own fairly liberal beliefs, but I don't need that. I like seeing other people's points of views standing up to criticism. Apparently that isn't important to conservatives.
What gives??
