FIRST HALF UPDATES:

0' WE'RE UNDERWAY! United in red, Sunderland in all white.

5' United dominating the opening stages and most of the play has been in the Sunderland half thus far.

10' Anichebe clashes in midair with Jones and it's the Sunderland man who stays down injured while Jones pops straight back up. After a few minutes of treating the injury, play is back underway.

15' Sunderland had a few moments of possession but it's back to United now and we're back knocking on the door. Our first corner of the game didn't come to anything.

19' MANCHESTER UNITED YELLOW CARD Blind goes into the book for a blatant tug on Anichebe. The free kick is well saved by De Gea though.

25' United had a penalty shout for a shoulder barge on Mata but nothing as given. We're still dictating the tempo but haven't had many shots at goal. And as I say that, Pogba curls a good chance wide from just outside the box. He actually hit the outside of the post with that chance and won us a corner! Nothing comes from it though.

29' Scenes as United scramble the ball clear in the box after De Gea makes a good save from a couple of desperate shots at goal from Sunderland. The corner that follows is cleared easily but Sunderland earns a free kick that Larsson smacks over the bar.

35' Sunderland have gained a foothold in this game and have peppered De Gea's goal with a few shots of late but they've all been saved well. Pogba has looked very bright as well and his most recent volley is only slightly over the bar.

38' MANCHESTER UNITED GOAL OUT OF NOTHING! Ibrahimovic picks the ball up on the edge of the box and drifts wide before laying off Blind who had charged into the box and he smacks it low and hard past the goalkeeper! We have our breakthrough!

45' THREE MINUTES ADDED

45+3' United earn a free kick with one of the final kicks of the game and it results in Mata forcing a save from Pickford and the referee ends the half.

SECOND HALF UPDATES:

45' We're underway again and United have immediately come out firing with two good chances around the box in the first minute. Nothing doing though.

50' Pogba comes close again; this time with a header, but it's just over the bar. He looks in the mood today and has been brilliant and involved all day.

55' The game has slowed down a bit with neither side creating chances.

60' SUNDERLAND YELLOW CARD Only the second yellow card of the game as Borini is booked for a tackle on Herrera.

64' Mkhitaryan with an instant impact as he slips Ibra through with a great pass but the shot is saved well by Pickford who has looked very good in goal today.
