Add Manning and you get 4 years of playoffs, three straight AFCCGs, and the Super Bowl of course (although the D definitely had more to do with that than Manning did, he certainly took them there in 2013)

Sure, but they also have Baalke (not a good drafter) and a lot of rebuilding to do before they'll be anywhere near competitive. The Browns already have a ton of young talent from all their picks last year and they have a ton more this year as well. Plus Kessler could be a long-term answer at QB while both Gabbert and Kaep have shown that they aren't. Kessler is on his rookie deal, so if they like what they have they can try and build around him.

It doesn't make sense though since their pick will go to the Titans. I guess for the second round and beyond, but still.

Honestly I'd rather be a Cleveland fan than a Niners fan atm. Hue is a way better coach, Kessler is a promising young QB, they've got an assload of draft picks, and a lot of young players that could grow into contributors. The Niners on the other hand are stuck with Kaepernick, Blaine Gabbert, and Christian Ponder. They could theoretically draft a QB but with that line I wouldn't. They have absolutely zero talent at receiver (I believe their leading receiver is still Jeremly Kerly who wasn't even on the team in August). They just signed Vance fucking McDonald to a $36 Million contract (and he got injured last game) which I just plain and simple don't get. He doesn't even seem like an average player to me. Bowman is a good player but he's going to get old long before his contract is up. In addition, the Niners don't have all the draft picks that the Browns do and they have Trent Baalke at GM who hasn't been good at drafting. Chip Kelly is their head coach (so far he doesn't exactly have a great track record). To top it all off they have one of the worst owners in the league who fired one of their best coaches ever after an 8-8 season in order to hire Jim Tomsula who proceeded to go 4-12 and get fired after a year.

Well you might still pick #1 because they have a divisional win. Plus they play the Rams again

They're 1-13 and their only win came against the Rams in week one (not that hard to beat the Rams lol). Even the Browns look better than them on some weeks.

Lack of WRs, GM is bad

Well in 2011 we had the 32nd ranked defense and got rekt by the Giants

In 2012 we got rekt by Kaepernick (and our playoff win was the Joe fucking Webb run Vikings. Not that impressive)

In 2013 we got rekt by Kaepernick again just not as bad (no playoff win)

In 2014 we beat the Cowboys in an amazing game. Rodgers playing on one leg and still wins. Then the NFCCG happens. D plays well for the first 55 minutes then everyone collapses.

In 2015 we beat the Redskins who really weren't that good and won a shit division and then lost to the Cardinals in another amazing game but Rodgers had to bail us out twice in the last minute in order to even get to overtime where we lost on an awful defensive play where we got shredded by Fitz (who is a good player but we missed a sack and he was wide open).

Then this year where we had games like this one where luckily we won and games we lost like the Vikings (Randall got torched), Cowboys (run D got torched), Falcons (close game but lost due to having Ryan, our worst coverage LB, covering a receiver for some reason), Colts (awful showing by D showcased by Luck completing a 20 yard pass on 3rd and long where HHCD missed a sack and Gunter got shredded since there was no safety help in the middle of the fucking field (maybe HHCD should've been there) and the only reason we were even in that game was the offense got hot, the Titans game where we looked bad in every aspect of the game and the D gave up 47 points, and the Redskins where admittedly the defense died but we still gave up 42 points and a huge TD when the game was still within reach.

There's his playoff record and this year. I really do think we need a fresh defensive mind in Lambeau. Not all of our problems are on him but there's enough where we need to send him packing. Perhaps we can pick up Gus Bradley, who is a decent D coordinator but just not a good head coach. I've just had enough of Capers.
