I was patiently waiting inline at a store, when I overheard a (married) father and his daughter.

I didn't pay much attention until I started hearing him talk to his wife in the most submissive and cringiest way possible on the phone. Of course, this bloke was speaking in the most effeminate tone one could muster, and it baffles me why men/fathers today do that voice, when they have a wife just for that. If anything, his daughter needs to experience both the male/female voices.

Then when it comes to dealing with the cashier, he implores his daughter to please fill the form for him. When the female cashier notices, and says "oh she's smart" (the girl is 14-ish), the father begins touting her "intelligence" and how she got all of it from her "mother" etc etc etc.

Look, it's fine to encourage your daughter, but this guy had not one iota of confidence to even say that "she got all her intelligence from her mother", leaves nothing to credit him (implying he's stupid). It could be the case that his wife is the shit (sorry, it's not, too many feminist fucking movies). If she's the shit, it's only because it's a developed society and she has the luxury to have a stagnating job in some nameless pyramid scheme corporation (remember, female follow, men innovate).
