Donald Trump isn’t even in office yet and has already started abandoning promises

During Donald Trump rallies it was common to for attenders to chant “drain the swamp”. The slogan was started on Twitter when Trump mentioned it in one of his notorious tweets, it means to remove corruption from the government.
During an interview with the NPR, Trump’s adviser, Newt Gingrich said Trump now “disclaims” the slogan.
“I’m told he now just disclaims that,” Gingrich said. “He now says it was cute, but he doesn’t want to use it anymore.”
It can be assumed Donald Trump is distancing himself from the slogan because some view him as corrupt and very suspicious. Trump’s spokesman, Sean Spicer said in an interview that corruption is lawful as long as you are transparent about it.
“Conflicts of interest arise when you’re not — when you’re sneaky about it, when you’re shady about it, when you’re not transparent about it,” Spicer said. “If you tell everyone, here’s what’s going on, here’s the process, here are the people that are playing a role — that’s being transparent.”
Originally Trump promised to fill his cabinet with Wall Street veterans and lobbyists, he obviously abandoned this promise also. In June, Trump said “if I am elected President, I will end the special interest monopoly in Washington, D.C.” then about a month later he completely retracted this promise without even trying to slip out of it “I don’t want lobbyists, I don’t want special interests.”
Even if you don’t view Donald Trump as corrupt, it’s still pretty ridiculous he’s attempting to push a new way of doing business when his cabinet is the richest in history. The wealth of all his cabinet members combined totals a net-worth of over $9.5 billion.
