Eric Bailly has returned to Manchester United training after a short injury lay-off.
The Ivorian defender limped out of United's victory at Crystal Palace last Wednesday with a knee problem and subsequently missed Sunday's win over West Brom.
However, he was pictured training with the Red Devils' first team at Carrington on Wednesday, giving Jose Mourinho a boost ahead of Sunderland's visit to Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
One player who is unlikely to feature against the Black Cats is Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger didn't train with his United teammates and was photographed leaving Carrington in his Range Rover just 15 minutes after arriving.
The former Germany captain is one of three players who have been tipped to leave United when the transfer window opens next month, with Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin also surplus to requirements.
Depay and Schneiderlin are being targeted by Everton.
United are set to add at least one new player to their team next month with Benfica's 22-year-old defender Victor Lindelof expected to complete a £38million move to Manchester.
