Jose's talked about getting the front three to be all interchangeable, so I can see us buying Griezmann and having a rotating front three of Griezmann, Rashford, Martial, Mkhi, Lingard, and maybe Mata/Memphis/Pereira/Adnan/new signing/youth talent.

When did he say this? He's always seemed to have a preference for a physical target man up top, so I'm quite skeptical of Martial/Rashford's chances of becoming our main man.

He might not have said it, but Rashford and/or Martial said it in an interview that he was having them play all across the front and wanted them to know and master both spots.

I kinda agree about the target man, but I think Rashford has a lot of filling in to do on his frame so he could end up with a Drogba-type build.

Think he just likes physical players in general to be honest, but yeah.

Griezmann has played his best football as a second striker. Griezmann and Rashford (once he's stronger and better at holdup especially) could work well up top or Griezmann and Martial. HOWEVER we'd have to play 2 up top for that to work.

I could see him playing LW for us, but playing farther forward than the RW (if that makes sense). So Rashford/Martial as the striker, Griezmann on the left with Pogba roaming behind him. The RW would be someone like Lingard/Mkhi that can contribute in attack but doesn't really play as far forward and tracks back more, while providing more width.

That'd be great, but I've a feeling there'll be at least one target man type in the squad.

Drogba, Zlatan, Higuain, Costa.

Mou loves someone who can get hold of the ball.

Maybe it'll be more of a squad player, like Giroud level, who can be used tactically, and then some games will suit more your fluid front three, and some will have more structure.

I'm not sure who's available to fit the bill for replacement. There is only Zlatan!

So maybe he will adapt his style of play and reduce his dependence on a Zlatan type forward.

If Rashford is not ready, let's buy the best striker available and put him (Rashford) on the bench. If Martial is not ready, let's buy the best LW available and put him (Martial) on the bench. We will either become a titan of football or will develop youngsters, we can't do both at the same time. I hope I didn't sound like a dick, but this is something that bothers me. People want Jose to bring the results of a world class team, but he needs to play youngsters. Well, fuck me, youngster are fucking unreliable. But Jose can't buy everyone available because that's not the united way. Some people are just impossible to please.

This is not directed at the OP or anyone specific here. It's just a rant.

I believe in Martial, all he need is good run of game.
But he is not playing regularly and that is bothering his development.

It's a weird balance. I think once we get back to the titan status it actually gets easier to blood youngster in. When you're fighting relegation or for top 4, it's harder. Same when you squad has holes. If you have one or two youngsters surrounded by 8 or 9 DDGs, Pogbas, and Zlatans, it's easier to cover their mistakes and ask them to focus on simple things while they learn.

We should buy Ronaldo at LW, Messi at RW and Higuain at CF. /s
