Living in the US my whole life, I actually believed that the US was the only developed country, and that other countries in Europe, Japan, and advanced countries were actually developing and no better than like Haiti (might be a slight exaggeration).

I just recently found out (early 20s) that the US isn't the only developed country, and that some countries are almost as good.
