The New Political Compass
It's hard to criticize something which doesn't have actual explanations in it, but I found five problems:
1) It's totally opinion based. It doesnt provide any useful information about economic, social, or political policies. It totally ruins the point of a compass. It doesn't classify anything, it just shows off what the creator believes. He could just write articles and essays for that.
2) It offers no explanation. It makes all these claims without any facts or arguments. What's the point of displaying this? No one is informed or convinced of anything.
3) There is no relationship between what's being classified. I see churches, countries, ideologies, parties, and many more.
4) Everything is from totally different time periods. Sparta and the USSR are thousands of years apart and can't be compared.
5) First wave feminism is considered fantasy-based and self-destructive. That movement was about womencs suffrage. How is that not sustainabe or realistic? We already have obtained it and it's working out pretty well.

There was a whole article attatched to it so I may criticize that in the future.

Also, given how far into "reasonable" territory the Roman Empire, Sparta, Pinochet, Golden Dawn and Franco are, this chart was quite clearly made by a fascist.

Also, lol @ CSA being in sustainable territory when they only lasted 4 years (compare USSR, deep into unsustainable but lasted nearly 70).

Sparta had sustainable policies? Really? Their economy collapsed because they had inalienable land holdings which impoverished most citizens and led to inefficient agriculture. Their birthrate collapsed horribly by the time of the battle of Leucatra.

I imagine his line of thinking was something along the lines of "Sparta was generally thought of as bad, but I'm rational and not emotional so I have to think Sparta was good. Just forced political incorrectness or edginess.

It's far more complicated than that. Notice that "Old Persian Empire" is also on the chart.

This is a sign that he got all of his knowledge of that time period from the movie "300". I'm guessing that he assigned them to positions on the chart based on specific plot points from the movie.

I don't think Sparta is generally thought of as bad though - Generally speaking they're the cool military guys compared to bland and boring Athens.

I don't really think Sparta was "bad" in comparison with Athens, and I think it's definitely an interesting model, but it clearly had failures.

Equating "the more authoritarian, the more realistic" is really demonstrably wrong in any sense of the word. What kind of simplistic view is that? It has neither theoretical nor practical/empirical backing.

Everyone who has ever studied politics and political issues a bit should know that the real world is way more complicated than this.

Also, are they trying to co-opt "sustainable" now, too? And isn't libertarian kind of self-contradictory, or lacking some consistency at least?

    Uhh, Sparta was an independent city state with its own government like most other cities. Athens was their biggest rival.
