A Manchester food blogger’s ingenious hack to keep her wine cool has taken the internet by storm.
Clare Potts came up with the brilliant idea to fill her fridge water dispenser with white wine to ensure her favourite tipple was always chilled.
The 28-year-old decided to share her inventive approach to staying ‘hydrated’ on Twitter, writing: “My adult life just peaked.”
Within hours Clare’s tweet had gone viral, racking up more than 180,000 likes and 70,000 retweets.
Clare, who had recently moved into a new house with her boyfriend, Joe, said her wine-cooling trick worked a treat.
She said: “We’ve just moved into our new house and we’re buying all the white goods, sofas and furniture.
“We settled on a fridge with a water dispenser as I drink a lot of water. Joe was telling me that it came with a wine rack inside and I said why don’t we just put it in the water dispenser?
“It wasn’t a joke, we wanted to see if it worked and it did! I’m planning on trying a G&T next.
“The reaction has been crazy, definitely not what I expected at all.
“I’ve had friends from all around the world tagging me in different posts and memes. It’s been crazy.”
Twitter users were full of praise for Clare’s idea.
Twitter user Andrew Yee said: “You should have got Time Person of the Year with this idea.”
Another called Sophie added: “Omg. Genius!’
Sarah posted ‘You are a goddamn genius!’ and another hailed it a ‘game changer’.
Keeley Phat Cupcake said: “Oh my god does this actually work? I have one of these on my fridge!”
“Hahaha yes. That is such a brilliant idea. Like taps exist already anyway. Way more useful,” added another user.
