Over time, I started noticing that, whenever I'm walking through a busy street (which happens often since I live in a fairly large city), I would usually step aside for a bit whenever crossing somebody to avoid walking into them, especially women, who never seem to move out of the way. Only just now, I notice that there's still some traces of society-induced white knight deep down inside my psyche.
Ever since I've been aware of this, I've decided to not give into this anymore. I'm considerably taller than the huge majority of people I encounter, so I'm fairly visible. So whenever I see a girl walking towards me (who, more often than not, are staring at their phone anyway), I pretend doing the same, by changing music tracks on my phone or something.
So, what's the net result? I bump into them all the motherfucking time. They almost never move aside, even though I'm close to being twice their size. Some of them apologize, granted, but the pretty ones typically look angry at me (you can clearly tell they're thinking that I'm supposed to move out of their way and not the other way around).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bump into them on purpose, all I'm doing is whipping out my phone whenever I'm on a collision course and walking straight forward without looking whether I'll bump into them or not.
Such is the subtle pervasiveness of today's gynocracy.
Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting you try this too, lest you get in trouble for it, but it's definitely worth being aware of.
