Even if it wasn't the Russians (and I'm not saying they didn't do it), the fact that a foreign party utilized freewheeling hacktivism to push a political agenda in the United States should alarm every single American. We like to believe it can't happen here, but this shit has been happening for decades now. We've been engaged in a constant cyberwar since the 90s. Hell, we know the Chinese do it for corporate espionage, and the hermits of North Korea did it for revenge, but only Russia really gains anything by disrupting the American political process. The simple truth is that intelligence agencies, independent cybersecrurity contractors, and even US Cyber Command believes Russia did it, and these guys are the experts in the field. The fact that millions of Americans, and even our own President-Elect, are disregarding this warning can only mean that Russia will probably do it again. But what will the next target be? If Russia could get into the DNC and DCCC, what's stopping them from getting into our energy grid and weaponizing it for their own purposes. They've done it to Ukraine already.
