Think he gets the start today w/ Mkhi out?

With Mkhi out, yes Mata starts.

I think for the rest of the season it will be a battle for that spot.... but I think you have to give Mhki the start against any big club and depending on his form throughout the game bring Mata on around 65'-75'.

Playing a 4-3-3 to get the best from Pogba means we lose an attacking midfield/winger spot. Mkhi has been great and Jose seems to value the speed of Martial/Rashford on the left. He'll get plenty of time still.

I am thinking Mata starts today

Me too. Without Mkhi it's likely anyway, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a midfield two with Carrick rested.

Because mkhitaryan is in great form right now - but I expect mata to return to the starting line up tonight as micky is injured. Also mou has been using pogba as central attacking midfielder in games against tougher and more aggressive opposition

Yeah Mkhi looked great against spurs, he's also more suited to that position vacant in the 4-3-3. Makes sense. Just crazy that he's captain one game then benched the next.

It's called squad rotation at times. And mourinho does that from time to time with Europa league games around and the shorter rest days.

Hardly crazy at all and more of an indication of how much he trusts Mata as well as the players since he captains the side when Rooney or Carrick aren't playing.

When Rooney starts he is captain but he doesn't play every match either. There's going to be rotation with as many matches as we play each week. Obviously Mkhi was in form before the injury so Mata got a breather here and there.
