I had an Internet friend once. I didn't even know his name, only his PSN handle. The way PS3 chat worked, we didn't audio chat at all, we just used text. And we used that text for about 5-6 years I think, until I have decided to switch to PS4. At this time, I have known everything about him, I cared for him deeply, and he was the only person that actually talked to me, when I had depression. We switched to PS4, we now stayed in audio party all the time, although his voice would be weird to me, even after all these years. Then we decided to meet [he lives about 700km from me, convert that to miles, I dunno, 500?] and we had a blast, he was everything as he was online, perfect friend, great player [we bet who will get platinum in Wipeout HD first, I have lost by 40 MINUTES] and ideal companion.

We have formed a bond so strong, so different, and yet real, that I haven't been able to be on similar level with 'real people' in my life. I could share everything without idiotic comments or thoughts [at some point we just knew what we were thinking when an even unfolded before us, we didn't have to speak].

Now, late summer of 2017 he is going to get married, and I am his photographer for the day [my job], I am also his 'best man' - although we have a little different tradition here in Europe, but nvm. I couldn't be happier, the simple possibility of sending text msgs turned into my greatest friend in life. What does that have to do with OPs post? Well I would never, under ANY circumstances stop talking to him on our shared platform. If someone is devoid of emotions to the level that it's perfect friendship or 'time with her' ultimatum being thrown, she really must be either psychopath [doesn't feel emotions], or she is stupid to the level that having any kind of contact with her I would consider embarrassing.

Either way, you dodged a bullet, and I am happy for you, because in the long run she would just drag you down, isolate from real life friends etc., making ultimatums on every occasion. I hope that there is someone out there for you, that understands relationships between people, even if it's being unfold on 'strange' platform, like a game. After all, it took my wife almost year to start one real conversation, before, we met briefly on 'wedding expo' thingy, and exchanged business cards [they actually existed not that long ago]. And we e-mailed, e-mailed, talked on the phone, meet briefly etc for few years, until I said that this must change, it was truly 'fairy tale' ending, as we both met, each of us having one wedding ring prepared and vows. We thought about the same thing, and executed it. What can I say? We are both awkward, but happy, I hope this little slice of life can convince you that there can be 'perfect ending' sometimes, and you will know it for sure, if this is it, I can assure you.
