Having a shit PC version will do that to a game

People aren't buying new games on PC and devs only have themselves to blame.

There was an article in the PCMR subreddit from one of the game development companies that realised their mistake. Their game a year ago was £39.99 and is now listed on the store at like £25

Basically game comes out for say £39.99 (usual release price for a AAA game), 4 months later it's in a steam sale for 25% off, a year later it'll probably be 75% off on sale, why would consumers buy games new when they can buy last year's games for 75% off and pick up this year's games next year for 75% off?

Edit: found it

For pc version, the sale is not really good because of glitches. However, the ps4 version is really good.

Define bad. The sales themselves are good, just not good for people who thought it could rival CoD, Battlefield, TES, and such. The release problems also motivated people to buy it later on, rather than immediately. This will reduce its ranking in sales charts, but won't affect the profits as much.

Dishonored is a niche franchise, loved by critics, but never popular in mainstream audience. And it doesn't even try to be anything else.

In the first week it sold 38% less than Dishonored 1. But it's important to keep in mind that almost all games released in the last months underperformed. Good and anticipated games like Watch Dogs 2, Titanfall 2 and many more didn't sell well either (for comparison, Watch Dogs 2 sold 80% less copies than its predecessor in week 1). The market is just way too overstuffed lately and people don't have money to buy everything. Big juggernauts like Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty occupied a lot of customers. The technical difficulties Dishonored 2 had and the talks about Bethesda's new review policy certainly didn't help either. But I think overall the game is still doing ok, more people will hear about patches improving performance and christmas is coming up so we'll see.

CoD also sold way less than last year

Yeah but also consider that CoD has had declining sales for a while now, even though they're still immensely popular and prosperous.
