Ray Washburne, a Dallas investor and former finance chairman of the Republican National Committee, is also being considered, according to Bloomberg, which noted Trump met with Perry and Washburne on Saturday in Baltimore.
Trump met with Heitkamp in New York last week and will meet with Manchin soon.
Perry, when running for president in 2011, famously forgot the name of the Energy Department when listing government agencies he wanted to eliminate.
