Ok I'm prepared for the natural onslaught of downvotes in this sub coupled with Austin being a blueberry in a tomato soup, but

I love master pancake. One of the coolest things about Alamo drafthouse. But like the past 5x I've seen them the bald guy rips on trump relentlessly in his intro. I kid you not last night two people laughed. It's getting old. It's almost as if he is suggesting Hillary would be a saint and would save us if elected since he never rips on her. She's a corrupt crook. But alas.

One of his bits is about simmering down to not turn the audience into a trump rally-- does he not realize the violent people at trump rallies were mentally ill patients paid 1500 a pop and bussed out to cause havoc and a PR situation by Hillary and George soros, the puppeteer of obama and Hillary, yours truly? Seriously,

I'm not suggesting not seeing master pancake by creating this thread they're fantastic. But man these jokes are just getting old. People expect them. And they aren't funny. They werent that funny to begin with.

Doug benson was guest too and he and the other guy didn't seem to chime in. It was uncomfortable

I was there and more than two people laughed, as has been the case during other shows they've had.

Ultimately, they get to say what they want since it's their show. In the past they've been receptive when people have had a genuine issue with something in the show, but you'll need sound logic rather than excerpts from your favorite websites / TV sources.

You really think half of their audience is Trump supporters? lol ~70% of people that voted in Travis County last cycle voted for candidates other than Trump. It's really amazing when you consider young people still don't vote in meaningful numbers. If you carved out people outside of their target audience, over 50 and the rich people in western Travis County you will probably find most of the 30% are not represented at their shows. If I had to guess Trump supporters at a MPT show is probably around 2%. Going a step farther while their jokes in the intro are repetitive, however they sell out every single show they put on and their shows are pretty good. Much better than MST3K or RiffTracks. Their Fifty Shades show was awesome.

Don't worry. Hopefully people that supported Trump will realize they just put a Trojan Horse in the Whitehouse. Trump is out for himself. He has already walked back most of his rhetoric. Hell the first deal he supposedly worked with Carrier is contra to what he said on the campaign trail. Getting tough with companies that outsource jobs through taxation and tariffing them into submission? Nope, just hand them $7MM in tax breaks to keep 800 jobs. This week Carrier announced that many of those 800 jobs will go the way of the Dodo soon because of automation. Looks like Carrier won on that deal. We will never be a manufacturing powerhouse because soon that won't be a thing and Trump knows it.

I don't think at any point I've posted in this thread in defense of Trump aside from the omission of his presence in office as of today and prior.. oddly enough for as much as people keep saying or suggesting that, actually my rants are a criticism of how shitty people who have actual,t been in office and performed damage, ought to not be revered as Angels and rock stars or get a pass by demonizing Trump with unrelenting anger as if he has been in office. Or as if he carries the legacy of Clinton-Bush-Obama incestual dynasties.

But it is the blindness of liberals that have cornered me as a Breitbart enthusiast, trump evangelist. It's interesting. Liberals are touted as being open minded. They don't appear to be.

I'm just arguing it's a lame joke and dividing his audience and reducing the laughs. Not seat sale count or overall laughter because MP is bad fucking ass. BUT It's quieter in the theater during the Trump portions. I've gone to MP a lot and my ears still work for now

As aforementioned, I'll continue to go and be a paying customer who doesn't disturb the audience during the show because barring the Trump riffs that I have come to expect and yawn at, Master Pancake is an excellent entity. Its so excellent I won't let my distaste for one portion of it ruin a good thing.

The rest of your post - It sucks he is a broken record - I don't think folks would be thanking Clinton as a "savior" but I can see what you mean about gloating if she won - Obama was supposed to get us to all report to FEMA camps and gun grabs according to many folks 4/8 years ago - Folks are now getting pretty worried about Trumps appointments and I can see no reason to disagree with that.

Get out of here with that "not more than 2 people laughed" nonsense. Where were you sitting? Nearly the entire theater laughed at every single Trump remark. The first show picked "Batman Returns" because the pitcher wrote an anti-Trump pitch for it, and "Fuck Trump" almost won as the drinking game phrase which means the majority of the theater had to be cheering loudly for it.

I was in the balcony and could hear the insane laughter at every Trump joke. Well, except from the older rich/drunk white couple sitting next to me heckling the movie choice... I swear they didn't laugh once at a Trump joke. Was that you?

No refund needed. I have big boy pants and generally enjoyed the show (like I said it happens at every show as of recent , and that doesn't forbid me from wanting to get good commentary out of films). I was trying to be empathetic. I'll concede the semantics of the word "rant" not being best at describing the details you provided. My general take is that they throw out a ton of jokes and they either hit or they land. If the question is whether jokes about Trump are found to be funny then I'd say yes. Obviously that's a matter of opinion but if you're looking for nuance and fact checking in Master Pancake jokes, then that's not going to happen. I'm glad this didn't put you off to that experience entirely and your expectation that this may continue still doesn't deter you. If you can accept that this is still some people's bag then I will accept and be mindful that it's tiring to others.

I totally accept that trump can and will get ripped on. It's expected, I didn't crawl from underneath a rock. Lots of people are pissed or disappointed from all sides and anxious and blah blah. Like I said I have big boy pants. It's the trump rally comment that really baffles me and seems to alienate the crowd and was ineffective comedically last night in my showing. And has been in my experience but the 7 o'clock show felt differently apparently.
