Ten Daily Habits for Guaranteed Success

We all know habits can make or break us.  Here are ten daily habits that you can apply into your everyday life that will take you one step closer to building the discipline you require to become successful.
  1. Throw away the to-do list! Start scheduling everything into time blocks, and organize them in order of importance. When you schedule your tasks into time blocks you give yourself more time to concentrate on a group of tasks instead of running around throughout your day trying to cross out as many tasks as possible while working on them haphazardly. When you organize your tasks by relevance of importance (the most important group of tasks can be classified as group A, and then each individual task will be in order of importance like A1, A2, A3, etc. The second most important group will be group B, and the third group C.) you focus on the tasks that can benefit you most and worry less about the ones that just take up your time.
  2. Set clear goals and remind your close ones and partners of them often. By setting clear goals you create a foundation of knowing what you want. Believe it or not only 10% of people have clear goals in mind that they wish to achieve in life. Once you have a set goal that you wish to achieve your subconscious mind will archive them and start working toward your goals everyday. By telling your close friends and partner the goals that you wish to accomplish, you then feel more entitled to fulfill them now that you have people who'd be disappointed to see you fail.
  3. Assign someone to hold you accountable for your actions, mistakes and tasks you do not want to do. When you assign someone to hold you accountable for your mistakes, actions, and habits that you want to drop, you become a better person as you start to change things that took a hold of you before. By assigning someone to this they will always tend to notice and point things out even when you don't.
  4. Start your day by writing down your top ten most important goals. By writing down your top ten goals everyday you begin to engrave what you plan to achieve into your head. Another perk of doing this is that when you are done you feel that you have a purpose to work for and motivation to use throughout your day. If you do this daily you will begin to memorize your goals and when you begin to feel like giving up you remind yourself what it is you are working towards. Always think of what the end result will feel like instead of the painstaking process to get there.
  5. Meditate first thing in the morning for 10 minutes. Meditating first thing in the morning is essential for daily success in life. When you meditate and practice clearing your mind, you then begin to build the muscles in your brain that help you counter negative thought or difficult situations in your day by day life. The deep breathing exercises that are part of meditation also help suppress anxiety and regulate your heart rate when you feel nervous.
  6. Do not hit the snooze button on your alarm. Once you hit that snooze button, the day already beat you. The way we start our day is the building block to how the rest of our day will follow If we begin the day by snoozing our alarm we have already let our lazy side take over and it will continue doing for the rest of our day. Remember our day is like climbing a mountain, if we start with a great amount of momentum from the get go we will keep climbing and our productivity and focus will keep increasing as our day goes by.
  7. Exercise every day and get at least 15 minutes of sunlight. We all know how important exercise can be for the body, but it is also essential for your mental health. first of all, exercising helps boost confidence through seeing a positive change in your physical structure. It also helps build muscles in your brain that will help counter the side of you that just wants to stay in, by doing this you become mentally stronger to do things that you are uncomfortable to confront or that you need to overcome. When you exercise endorphins are released, these endorphins are used by your body to override stress and anxiety as well as reduce your perception of pain. They trigger a positive feeling in the body and are accompanied by an energizing outlook on life.
  8. Never let your emotions control you, learn how to control them. Your emotions are the key to your success. All of these habits ultimately alter your emotions in a positive way. If we do not learn to feel happy when we are mad, or merely suppress the anger we are experiencing then everything beneficial you have done throughout your day will become obsolete. When we let anger and depression take over our daily lives all the good deeds and gestures you did that day for others will be forgotten as they will become familiar with your unpleasant side. Learn how to control your emotions and you will be liked more as well as experience a high quality lifestyle.
  9. Every morning, write ten things you are grateful for. Gratitude is key to success. Having gratitude makes you appreciate what you already have instead of asking for things that you don’t. By practicing gratitude you then become humble and focus on intrinsic motivators like doing your job well to hone your craft instead of focusing on extrinsic motivators like money. Being grateful releases dopamine which in turn makes you feel happier and motivated to tackle your day. Most people that practiced gratitude daily saw a 10% increase in their overall long-term happiness.
  10. Always see failure as a lesson and an opportunity to do it better next time. Failure is one of the greatest teachers of our time, the downside is that most individuals tend to fear failure. Failure is to be appreciated, at times it may be hard but it can teach you thing that no advice or formal education can. Some of the most valuable lessons are learned through failure and the persistence of not giving up. If you rewire your brain to see failure as an opportunity rather than a setback you will achieve thing that you never thought possible.
