There, I said it. I have carried this around long enough, and this needs to be said.
It's like there is no humanity in people. Everywhere I look there is cold, calculated rationality without a sliver of heart or compassion. Everyone I see is out to line their pockets and get an edge on their fellow man. Money is the ultimate object of desire, which is no other than a guarantee that someone else will be forced to serve your interests on demand. We're out to fuck each other over at the slightest sign of weakness, and whatever objections the conscience may have are promptly silenced. Why? Because fuck that, this is a matter of life and death, we can't afford sappy feelings in this day and age.
When did we loose our kinship, our creaturehood? We were closer to nature, to the animals once. I have the greatest respect for them- you can see grace and wisdom in their every move, in every look. We consider them to be inferior species, but compared to them, humans are the species that has fallen from grace. Look at how we live- we are fractured, we are ill, our days are filled with hatred and despair. We traded lives of wellbeing and appreciation for some bloody smartphones and toxic junk food. Compare your life to that of a dog or a bird- notice how happy they are in the moment. We have destroyed our habitat, and have enslaved others and even ourselves. We are the scum of the earth.
Our brightest minds keep telling us that we must move on to more rationality, more logic. That this is just a slow time in our evolution. Technology and innovation are going to save the day, as it were. Well, they're not. Further down this road is only more chaos, more suffering and bondage. With every new step we only dig ourselves a deeper grave. We already lost our purpose as intelligent beings and are striving hard to stomp out the rest of our inner light.
Our minds will not save us. It is time to stop this insanity, or it will stop us. Which might not be the worst of outcomes, all things considered.
