A lil back story: I live in an area where college football is of high importance, and everyone is expected to somewhat take part in it, it seems. She's married to atypical football nut, so she is now football wifey. She really doesn't like it, and knows-or should know I don't really care about it either. We even had that conversation about it about a week or so ago when I declined going to their big screen game party.
Anyway, I get gifted an early Christmas present, b/c "I'm her son, and she can't not get me something extra. She just doesn't want to rub me getting extra presents at our next family get together. I open it, to find a fairly nice watch with a big emblem of the local teams logo across the face of it.
This woman who has "raised" me, and cares so much for what I want- doesn't know I don't want a football watch. She got out of me that I'd prefer it to have just been plain, and that would have probably been cheaper anyway- and she started trying to talk me into it. "Well I think it looks good on you. It suits you well.. blah blah."
Sorry to whine to you guys with first world problems, but it kind of bothers me I feel like my own mother tries to manipulate me into whatever she wants this year. The last man hunted, and I got some camo for Xmas, as another example.
