Streisand Effect crits for over 9000, but without anyone actually going through the info in the top voat threads to debunk it.
[–]djklbd [score hidden]  (4 children)
Agreed, the Streisand Effect is making waves right now. People are waking up.
[–]BlatantConservative [score hidden]  (2 children)
Its not really the Streisand Effect when its 400 NEETs sitting in a basement constantly posting about it.
[–]djklbd [score hidden]  (0 children)
Hahah, you have much research to do...
[–]pi_kachu [score hidden]  (0 children)
That's not what the Streisand Effect is referring to in this situation
[–]MonnetDelors 67 points68 points69 points  (4 children)
When you're praising Youtube comments. Maybe it's time to realise that you've gone too far down the rabbit hole.
[–]BlatantConservative [score hidden]  (3 children)
Its pretty commonly agreed that Youtube comments are always awful.
[–]Zerwe [score hidden]  (1 child)
i can't say that. It really depends on what kind of videos you are watching.
[–]photonsabsent [score hidden]  (0 children)
Same with reddit I think - lots of stupid comments get wildly voted up depending on what subreddit/thread you're on
[–]conspiracytheorista [score hidden]  (0 children)
I've actually felt like YouTube comments have been improving lately. Maybe I have just been watching more insightful videos and less trash.
[–]djklbd 98 points99 points100 points  (44 children)
All the top comments are in support of Pizzagate investigation. Here's a few of them:

And my personal favorite,
This guy is a jackass for trying to discredit a civilian lead investigation on a potentially worldwide children trafficking sex ring. He could have just tried to deny the allegation that he is in it but no, he discredits the entire thing. Even the title is meant to discredit this. "Alt-Right Fever Dream". Sure, this was started by the Alt-Right but he mentions that its the Alt-Right mainly looking into this a lot to try and get people who dont like the Alt-Right to brush this off and not look into it. The title even calls this a fever dream. This entire video felt like 25% comedy 75% insults directed towards people that are concerned about children that are caught up in a sex trafficking pedophile ring. Seriously, if he wants to make jokes about it thats fine but at least spend most of your time making jokes instead of discrediting an investigation into what appears to be a viable possibility based off info which he never even mentioned.

See, the people are winning. It almost seems like pizzagate skeptics are actually in the minority here. It's a selfish, ignorant position to take, to discourage a citizen investigation into sex trafficking. and the people seem to agree. Like one of the top comments said, Is it not better to investigate and be wrong, than to not investigate and be right?
[–]Gyshall669 82 points83 points84 points  (17 children)
YouTube comments are not a very good barometer of public perception. They are pretty much regarded as a cesspool.
[–]sh3rog 34 points35 points36 points  (12 children)
They are a pretty good reflection of the average american i'd say
I also agree they are a cesspool
[–]DietCokeAndProtein 16 points17 points18 points  (7 children)
Do you talk to average Americans about it in real life? Everybody I've talked to where the topic came up thought it was pretty retarded.
[–]sh3rog 4 points5 points6 points  (4 children)
I told 8 people about it last saturday, none of them had heard of it.
I showed them the emails and photos and music videos etc etc and all of them agreed something was up. I also said "listen out for 'fake news'" and lo and behold next day, gunman at comet, fake news everywhere.
[–]DietCokeAndProtein 5 points6 points7 points  (2 children)
If that's the case, then hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe we live in areas where people have very different views, maybe they were just trying to appease you because they thought you were being weird, etc.
[–]sh3rog -1 points0 points1 point  (0 children)
Eh I think its more that people know I'm smart and not crazy and that I internet a fuckton. My main point was to show them the news articles which were out at that point and then show them the actual evidence and be like "why wasn't any of this shown in the articles? why are all the references super misleading? Like they want you to believe the images are from random customers instagrams"
[–]sh3rog -2 points-1 points0 points  (0 children)
I'm also a very quiet person, I just mentioned it and people were intrigued, definitely not trying to just appease me if anything I didn't want to talk about it anymore
[–]djklbd 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
Nice work man, keep spreading the truth.
[–]justcomehome [score hidden]  (1 child)
silent majority. people don't want to admit what they actually feel in public in case they are judged or labeled. especially on something like this, which is a lot bigger than voting for trump. unless it was your really good friends, I wouldn't be surprised if some believed in something different.
Im impartial right now, leaning towards there might be something shady. I think that there are too many coincidences for it to just be nothing, but I don't know the scope of it and am not willing to believe a humongous child trafficking scene.
I just think that the actual opinion might be different than the pubic opinion
[–]DietCokeAndProtein [score hidden]  (0 children)
silent majority. people don't want to admit what they actually feel in public in case they are judged or labeled.
I can see your point, but I don't think that's the case with a good chunk of the people I've talked to. A couple have been close friends, and then most of the others are in my line of work, which forces you to not give a shit about how you're judged or labeled, otherwise you won't last or you'll end up with serious depression. Some of them I think are absolutely fucking idiots in regards to some topics, they think I'm a fucking moron in regards to some topics, we all know this, and it's just a part of the culture where we work, if that makes sense, so I feel like it's not a case of them not wanting to admit what they really think. But maybe I'm wrong.
[–]FunkyFreakyFresh 4 points5 points6 points  (3 children)
Loolllllllll
No, YouTube comments on a particular video are absolutely not inductive.
More folks watch his show on TV
Most never look at comments
Very Few comment
[–]djklbd 3 points4 points5 points  (2 children)
Lol, Colbert's ratings are in the toilet. He is in 3rd place behind Kimmel and Fallon. The guy's a joke..
[–]ceewiz [score hidden]  (0 children)
Going from a religious family in NC, to second city in Chicago, to Comedy Central, then a final stop at a top 3 network all while only being good at acting like a caricature of the right wing isn't a coincidence
[–]djklbd 6 points7 points8 points  (1 child)
Eh, I dont know abut that. Comments section tells you a lot about the public perception of the particular topic. Doesn't matter what media it's a part of. And judging by those comments, the public is very open and willing to continue the pizzagate investigation. Rightfully so.
[–]ceewiz [score hidden]  (0 children)
People automatically assume:
What I do = what everyone else does
Hence the inability to even grasp the concept of child trafficking. If it was...say.... a festival that involved eating dogs in China - different story entirely and has the backing of international media despite (regardless how sickening it is) has been cultural tradition
In no way am I supporting this, I am just juxtaposing the two and public's perception of these ideas.
[–]toxeia 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]I_AlsoDislikeThat 16 points17 points18 points  (12 children)
What exactly makes you think skeptics are in the minority? Because the YT comments mostly support pizzagate? No shit. People that support pizzagate are active searching for pizzagate shit. Normal people aren't.
Also the video has twice as many likes than dislikes.
[–]djklbd 9 points10 points11 points  (9 children)
Jeeze, a little hostile, are we? Any particular reason?
Why the hell would someone like you who is discouraging an independent investigation come on a conspiracy forum and shit all over our constructive discussion out of nowhere? I took a look at your post history, you seem to have made it your mission to prop up Colbert's image.
"Damn. Colbert is the man!"
What is your motive here?
[–]HigdonBee77 [score hidden]  (0 children)
An independent investigation like Edgar Welch performed?
[–]I_AlsoDislikeThat -4 points-3 points-2 points  (5 children)
Nothing was hostile about that comment. But it's clear you have no rebuttal. Constructive discussion includes addressing comments that disagree with you. You decided to attack my character instead. This is why no one takes pizzagate serious.
[–]djklbd 11 points12 points13 points  (4 children)
Anybody who vehemently discourages an independent investigation into child trafficking needs to be exposed. Clearly, pizzagate is being taken serious or it wouldn't dominate the front page of this sub for the past month. You are in the minority my friend. Once again, what is your motive for being here? Your post history shows you rarely if EVER visit/post on this sub. Good luck in your campaign my friend. If you ever decide to to take an interest in our research, PM me and I would be happy to go over some of the information with you. We need to reach as many people as possible.
[–]RuPaulver 2 points3 points4 points  (2 children)
"Clearly, pizzagate is being taken serious or it wouldn't dominate the front page of this sub for the past month. You are in the minority my friend."
You realize this is the conspiracy sub, right? This sub itself is a huge minority and a bubble.
I vehemently discourage the investigation because there's almost 0 likelihood it's actually true and almost 100% likelihood it leads to innocent people being harassed and potentially having their lives ruined. It's entirely based on misinformation (non-existent code words, jokes being taken literally, etc) and has less evidence than the existence of lizard people. I vehemently disagree with the notion that it's immoral to discourage horrible accusations against anybody we want. The precedent that sets for privacy is insane.
[–]TheyLive8891 [score hidden]  (0 children)
Honestly are you going to tell me that you wouldn't be surprised if US has it's own pedophile circle? I mean come on Canada, Norway, and Australia have been caught with these practices.
[–]ceewiz [score hidden]  (1 child)
Let's see based on his more recent comments:
  • He gets angry over ps4 games.
  • He is confrontational in every single post I read.
  • He goes into subreddits obviously outside his realm of interest or respect with the intention of stirring shit up
  • He is rarely the contrarian and seems to be unable to think critically
He doesn't realize he is a shill or shilling because the really fucked up ones never do.
[–]djklbd [score hidden]  (0 children)
Sounds like a pretty fair assessment..
[–]HigdonBee77 [score hidden]  (0 children)
lol attacking you for being a shill?
He must be desperate.
[–]conspiracytheorista [score hidden]  (0 children)
Yes, but it's the active internet community that pushes information into the mainstream news for the normies to consume.
[–]ProgrammingPants 4 points5 points6 points  (6 children)
Is it not better to investigate and be wrong, than to not investigate and be right?
Why should we not investigate you for raping and murdering children in your basement, despite not having any evidence to back this claim? After all, it's better to have the police violate your privacy and intrude upon every facet of your personal life despite not having any evidence to support you raping and murdering children in your basement, and be wrong, than it is for them to not do that and be right.
According to the argument in this comment, there is literally no reason ever to require evidence or cause before authorities launch an investigation, because there is nothing wrong and there is no cost to investigating and being wrong.
And the conspiracy group is the side that agrees with this.
[–]zachij 6 points7 points8 points  (3 children)
After reading into the situation Ill happily be the bad guy and trade away the privacy of Mr Alefantis' basement for the potential outcome of liberating thousands of victimised children. Wait, what basement do you mean actually, Alefantis said he didnt even have one? :P
[–]ProgrammingPants -6 points-5 points-4 points  (2 children)
After reading into the situation I'll happily be the bad guy and trade away the privacy, and basic rights, of /u/zachij for the potential outcome of liberating thousands of victimized children, assuming he hasn't murdered and eaten them all yet in satanic ritual.
After all, it's possible he rapes and murders children in satanic rituals. Entirely possible, and we have no way of knowing whether or not he does. We can only be safe and do an investigation, even though we don't have any evidence that he does.
[–]djklbd 3 points4 points5 points  (1 child)
And the conspiracy group is the side that agrees with this.
Lol, you couldn't be more wrong...
Look at the comments on that video. Look at the comments on this post. This post made it to the top of the front page in less than 3 hours. That means the vast majority of people on this sub have taken an interest in pizzagate and think a further investigation is warranted. Just because you do not possess the ability or the patience to research the information, make the connections, and come to rational conclusions (or you were too lazy to even begin digging into any of the findings), doesn't mean the rest of us should not take an interest in this anymore. Ignoring even the slighest chance these kids could be abused is selfish and ignorant..
[–]wiseprogressivethink [score hidden]  (0 children)
This guy is, and has always been, an asshole.
[–]martini-meow -4 points-3 points-2 points  (3 children)
Has Colbert ever reported on Catholic Church pedophilia? I'm pretty sure he's Catholic, so he's probably from the large set of Catholics that la-la-la-I-can't-hear-you go on about life as if there isn't rigorous proof of Priest Crimes Against Children. And now the Pope's basically reinforcing that attitude.
[–]ninehourssober 3 points4 points5 points  (1 child)
He's not really a reporter, but the first video that came up when I googled it shows him clearly acknowledging it in an interview:
[–]martini-meow [score hidden]  (0 children)
well that's good, at least.
[–]DoAsThouWill [score hidden]  (0 children)
Fair point. A lot of Catholics just ignore that stuff, but honestly it's the nature of the beast. NO ONE wants to talk about or acknowledge pedophilia for the most part, which is why pushes like pizzagate are important. Hell, it's even worse when that pedophilia is implicated within an institution that you're a part of... It's like people cannot fathom it, in my opinion. Their brain just sort of shuts off and says "enough of this shit." Probably because they have no experience of any kind in relation to the subject.
Essentially, talking about pedophilia is insanely difficult because no one wants to believe in the sordid, twisted, and demented truth. Cognitive dissonance will do the rest of the heavy lifting in these cases, and people will just shut all information about the topic out. It's quite sad to be honest, but we're only human. Hell, look at what happened with the German people during WW2. A lot of them will say they had no idea, but a few will say "We knew what was going on, we knew after the first train full of people left and they never returned." But that didn't stop those horrors, in fact, they were rarely questioned... They were told to report their neighbors if they felt they couldn't be trusted. Now, Mark Zuckerberg tells us to report people who spread fake news... HR 6393 (just found out about it myself) will help to put people away for a looooooong time if they question the "purity" of their governing authorities....

I mean, I get r/conspiracy promotes conspiracy theories, but come on someone link me evidence that somehow genuinely links Hillary Clinton to promoting a pedophilia-based sex ring. This sounds completely absurd of course the average person would react how Stephen Colbert did. It would take immensely persuasive evidence to get a reasonable person to spend even an iota of their intelligence entertaining the thought. Just because Hillary Clinton seems untrustworthy, does not mean she has a pedophilia ring. That does not sound like alt-right madness, that sounds like unfiltered madness. I will go out of my way to figure out how Gold works on here if a commentator can provide sufficient evidence to warrant a reasonable doubt that Hillary Clinton indeed ran a child sex ring.
Upboat this so people post sufficient proof, if such a feat can be done.
[–]Maibes [score hidden]  (0 children)
Few are accusing Hillary Clinton directly...
[–]GhostSheSends [score hidden]  (0 children)
Didn't some of the leaked Podesta emails talk about Anothny Wiener being investigated for sexting with an underage girl as far back as five years ago? I would say turning a blind eye to that is a start. I don't know about these people running a ring themselves but I could easily see them keeping this all hush hush to protect each other.
[–]HelpfulCommentPoster 27 points28 points29 points  (11 children)
As the most helpful comment poster around (check my username for proof), I am glad that anonymous youtube comments are gaining traction as America's most trusted news source. The so called "legitimate" news organisations are too hung up on keeping 150 year old reputations as reliable purveyors of the truth, while your average internet user can effortlessly post the facts that they thought up in comment sections around the globe. The truth runs all the way around the world while the lying MSM hasn't even put its boots on.
[–]FunkyFreakyFresh 9 points10 points11 points  (1 child)
I know, people are finally waking up that the person who shouts the angriest and loudest is always right!
[–]BlatantConservative [score hidden]  (0 children)
There's a term for this. Crybullies, anyone?
[–]DoAsThouWill [score hidden]  (2 children)
I get what you're saying about the YT comments, but don't act like the mainstream media is anything but a propaganda machine. It was legalized in 2013 for a reason, you know. If anything, they are the promoters of fake news. Like Hillary's "98% of winning." Or like the stories about WMDs and terror in the Middle East. (Which was mostly just fear mongering so that a couple war hawks could make a billion bucks. )

Of course not. There's been no substantiated evidence.
[–]BlatantConservative [score hidden]  (0 children)
There is a grand total of one picture of one girl having her hands taped to a table.
[–]The_Watterboy -2 points-1 points0 points  (2 children)
Not that I know of - but to be fair, every single time there is a sex scandal, especially when it involves children, the victims are often threatened by authorities to keep their mouths shut, usually by penalty of perjury or libel.
I understand that this is a convenient excuse - but its important to acknowledge that it HAPPENS and it has HAPPENED consistently throughout recorded history.
[–]ninehourssober [score hidden]  (1 child)
I'm not sure that this happens 'every single time.'
[–]The_Watterboy [score hidden]  (0 children)
Yea, i misspoke. I meant it like slang, sort of like "every single time they are about to catch something big, all of a sudden the witnesses back down and disappear" ect. But regardless, i dont think that changes the point i was trying to make

[–]no1113 1 point2 points3 points  (3 children)
I might not go as far as to say we're outnumbering them. That would mean that there are more of us seeing the truth of the MSM lies and understanding that there is something very not right going on w/Comet Ping Pong than them - and I'm not sure enough people do know these things.
All that said, I'm glad that the numbers of people waking up seem to be growing. Definitely.

[–]BlatantConservative [score hidden]  (0 children)
I have looked at the evidence. Yes the Instagram is weird. Yes that one guy has weird art.
You know what none of it is? Connected to pedophilia and eating people. Thats a huge fucking leap.
If literally the only connection you have is some instagram pictures, some art, and the words "cheese pizza," thats not proof. And you better give me a whole lot of proof if you're gonna convince me that people Ive met eat children.
[–]TotesNicestPersonEvr [score hidden]  (0 children)

I refuse to watch that video. Did he show any of the pics from the owners Instagram? Did he show anything that gives perspective to why people believe it?
If not, then why not? Show the pictures. Let's have you read the captions on your little talk show and see what the general public thinks about them.

The fucking love pizza and pasta! When have you ever talked about pizza and pasta in emails? I've probably never sent a email about pizza and I fucking love pizza
[–]MisterPandaBear23 [score hidden]  (0 children)
Yeah no those emails are definitely strange and the context would leave me to believe that they are code. My imagination can surmise something crude is being discussed thus why there is very few details. That being said I still am seeing no links to the code words and pedophilia, nor am I seeing a link to the code words and the pizzaparlor in question beyond the use of pizza as a code word.
[–]MisterPandaBear23 5 points6 points7 points  (2 children)
Holy shit thank you. But is there any evidence to support the claim of a pedophile ring? Genuinely curious as to why this is a theory. Wanna see some evidence before I make an opinion. Also I have 3 notification but the only comment I can in response to my original one is yours. Kinda weird.

[–]Bippzy 6 points7 points8 points  (7 children)
Two thing stood out to me:
  • These articles that strawmanned Pizzagate by saying the theory is that Hillary Clinton and Podesta personally run a child sex ring in a basement is being used as a reference - the smear campaign worked perfectly. Even the basement thing.
  • Stephen Colbert just nonchalantly says the emails are hacked by Russia and released by Wikileaks. On what grounds do we know the emails were hacked by Russia? This promotes the idea that Russian propaganda is manipulating the U. S. public if what he is saying is true.
Can anyone help out with my second bullet? Thanks

It's all prep for public support of HR 6393. It already passed in the house by hundreds of votes. Senate vote up next, then the president signs. We'll see what happens.
[–]DoAsThouWill [score hidden]  (0 children)
FUCK! This is the first time I've heard of HR 6393 and I must say that learning about it has really fucking ruined my night.
Thanks for being the bearer of bad news, I'll be calling my senator tomorrow. Terrifying stuff though, you're right about this being prep. I thought the fake news stories were meant to ease the public into mocking and discrediting pizzagate, among other investigations that have taken place during this election cycle, but REALLY it's all about lulling the public into doing that and then sweeping all of the "bad fake news supporters" under the rug. In. One. Fell. Swoop.
It's like that old saying "First they came for the farmers, and I did nothing, because I was not a farmer..." They're coming for all of us with this House Resolution...

In regards to your second point there's pretty much a consensus within the Intelligence Community that Russia was behind it. I haven't gotten the chance to read up on it yet today cause of finals and such but the most recent example is the report from the CIA regarding it that I think got released late today.
When I have some time tomorrow I can link you some of the articles discussing it if you're actually interested it.

[–]joe462 3 points4 points5 points  (8 children)
Meh. The comments don't impress me. The worst thing Colbert did was say that Comet Ping Pong has no basement, when there's really good reason to think that it does. He should be called out on that more so than his agenda of discrediting a conspiracy theory he probably legit thinks is nonsense.
[–]dentistshatehim 8 points9 points10 points  (7 children)
That's is a cold room. Something like it is in almost every restaurant and could be on any floor. This isn't evidence for a basement.
[–]llNightwolfll 4 points5 points6 points  (0 children)
You mean the #Killroom & #Murder?
[–]poolskooled 8 points9 points10 points  (0 children)
In an interview the owner talks about his basement.
[–]djklbd 3 points4 points5 points  (4 children)
Comet Ping Pong is connected to Bucks and it is potentially connected to Besta Pizza. Regardless, he still said the words "We don't have a basement", and later said the words, "We keep the tomatoes in the basement". And he didn't specify what he meant, and didn't clarify, so I'm assuming he was potentially lying there and had a slip up. It's not like the guy has done a whole lot to earn our trust or for us to assume it was just a misunderstanding in his language.
[–]dentistshatehim 1 point2 points3 points  (3 children)
In the interview he said he was referring to his other restaurant, Bucks. They are not connected buildings.
[–]djklbd 7 points8 points9 points  (0 children)
Yes, they are connected.
I fear that many of the pizzagate skeptics are simply uneducated as to the basics of the investigation and are unaware of the new developments.
[–]WisdomModifier 5 points6 points7 points  (1 child)
Despite being literally connected.
edit: Sorry... im mistaken. Bucks is connected to Besta, and is one door down from Comet.

This is the court of public opinion, not the court of law - you'd think they would want to address the "evidence" if it is as weak as they say it is. There are crazy stories in tabloids every single day, none of them go viral like this... why is that?

      1. Google image for a heart logo
      2. Google image triangle logo
      3. Google image for a ping pong logo
      4. The creepy 'satanic' posters, are band posters. They have live music often. There is a local concert venue in my town, sf, they have local bands with weird band names as well. It only seems weird with comet ping pong when people tell you it's the front for a child sex trafficking ring.
      5. This video is just a reference to demonstrate how much fundraising and lobbying is necessary in the world of politics. Running campaigns and pushing for policies is NOT cheap, and food is often the way to go. Congressional Fundraising- Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - YouTube
6.The police sketches of John and Tony Podesta are false, because they are just 2 sketches of the exact same guy, not two sketches of different suspects. People also strongly believed that the father was responsible for murdering and covering up his daughters death, and they also were convinced the police sketches were clearly of the dad. It just goes to show how people will see what they want to see.
      1. Many of the pictures of the restaurant are "creepy" just because of what I mentioned earlier. The little girl with her hands taped to the table? I have literally done something similar to that to my niece as a joke because she kept trying to tickle me. If you weren't already convinced they were pedophiles, you would look at it and think it's cute/funny.
      2. The woman that invited the pedestals to the "spirit" cooking is a very well known, albeit weird, artist. She has a large following. Her name is Marina Abramovic. I have no appreciation for this phase of weird modern art, but a lot of people do. Tony podesta happens to be an art enthusiast and is constantly purchasing art. Whether it's from big name artists a little known artists. He cycles his art annually and plan to donate everything after he's passed or something like that.
      3. D.C. is a super progressive, Hipster area. Comet ping pong is kind of hipster. Lot's of hipster shit is weird shit.
      4. James alefantis has a lot of photos of children on instagram because he is has a wife and kids. I'm sure you can think of at least 1 other person you know who post pictures of their kids all the time. But suddenly it's weird because they've been accused of something so nefarious.
These are just a few examples. Many of this stuff has been blown out of proportion by people who go in to "investigate" with preconceived expectations and so naturally they find "evidence" in things that would otherwise never spark an interest.
The thing about conspiracies is they can't be proven. You could allow pizza gate believers to go in to the restaurant and conduct their own investigation however they wanted, and after they come up with nothing they'd go on about how they covered everything up and find even more "clues" that the elites are hard at work trying to hide a huge child sex ring. When people are already convinced that all the media is working with the government to orchestrate these elaborate evil schemes, why would they believe any counter evidence made by those same people they already distrust?
      [–]I_AlsoDislikeThat 2 points3 points4 points  (11 children)

      [–]djklbd -1 points0 points1 point  (5 children)
Yea, he also roasted the Bush administration at the 2006 White House correspondents dinner, whats your point? Clearly, today, he is not in favor of legitimate journalism, he's protecting people who are potentially implicated in a pedophile ring, by running a smear piece on their independent investigation.
And if you still don't think there is anything to Pizzagate to warrant an investigation, then you're uneducated, dude.
      [–]I_AlsoDislikeThat 0 points1 point2 points  (4 children)
He's a comedian, dude. His show was literally on Comedy Central. He literally says this isn't news it's entertainment in the first 15 seconds of the video. He's never been a journalist. I find it hilarious that someone that couldn't make that connection is calling people uneducated.
Also it seems you don't believe in the notion "innocent until proven guilty" since you feel he can't protect people who haven't been proven guilty.
      [–]djklbd -1 points0 points1 point  (3 children)
Look, the bottom line is that he's making a mockery out of a legitimate citizen investigation, dude. He's also spreading false information and making a lot of "reaches" and brushing things off, to deter people from taking it seriously. He may just be a useful idiot, doing what he's told, but he's still doing it. What is funny about that?
      [–]I_AlsoDislikeThat 0 points1 point2 points  (2 children)
What was false in the video?
      [–]djklbd -2 points-1 points0 points  (1 child)
Colbert is trying to push the ole' "emails were hacked by Russia" bit, and that Russia is responsible for the damning wikileaks emails. There is absolutely no proof to support this claim, the Mainstream media used this talking point during the election to discredit wikileaks.
Colbert didn't even bring up any of the really juicy Podesta emails or address any of the odd language used in them. He didn't show any of Alefantis' twitter photos or the logo's of the businesses before they changed them once they were exposed a few weeks ago. It was a sloppy, rushed and biased rundown of the whole thing. He didn't present the other side of the argument, he didn't debunk ANYTHING.
This was not an honest, independent presentation/coverage of the Pizzagate scandal, this was a "hit piece" to discredit us and to turn people away from taking an interest in it, and people are clearly aware of this. People seem to be waking up to the tactics that the mainstream media uses, and this new "fake news" thing is very dangerous.
      [–]I_AlsoDislikeThat 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
There's just as much proof for pizzagate as there is Russia supplying the hacked emails. The only difference is you decided to dismiss it simply because MSM. And yet you feel like the victim when people dismiss you. It's blatant hypocrisy.
Regardless that's not false information. That's simply spreading unproven accusations. Sound familiar?
Also he doesn't have to show the otherwise or debunk anything. Once again not news, entertainment.

Colbert loves covering for child rapists. Wikileaks just revealed Podesta/Clinton in direct contact and giving orders to Stephen Colbert to promote Clinton initiative: Craig Minassian, Chief Communications Officer for the Clinton Foundation’s “Clinton Global Initiative”, wrote Podesta a post-production email about a few episodes The Colbert Report did promoting CGI University. Much like “Trump University,” the “CGI University” is no university at all, but rather, “hosts a meeting where students, university representatives, topic experts, and celebrities come together to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges,” according to its website. But it’s Minassian’s choice of words, in his email to Podesta, which is now raising eyebrows. “John, I hope you got a chance to see The Colbert Report‘s two special episodes I had them do about CGI U that we taped in St. Louis this weekend,” the email reads, implying Minassian has some power and influence over the direction, content, and substance in the production of The Colbert Report. “I had them do,” is what is written. Wait! What? Read more at http://thefreethoughtproject.com/clinton-foundation-used-stephen-colbert-improve-cf-image/#8FzlZmx6SWhwwuAa.99

That's it folks. It's settled. Colbert has spoken and we can all trust him because he's soooooooo funny and has laugh tracks.
Hillary DID land under sniper fire. never called TPP the gold standard, etc., etc. Brian Williams WAS on the helicopter taking fire in Iraq, etc., etc. CNN did NOT interview their own cameraman posing as a protester, pass debate questions to Donna Brazile, coach "independent voters" how to answer, pretend to be at crime scenes and on location, etc., etc. And LIE of the year was NOT ... "Hands up, don't shoot" that was reported by EVERY mainstream media outlet and got innocent people hurt and businesses burned to the ground.
Thank you mainstream media, for keeping us all so well informed of your "truth". Look at yourselves for the rise of "fake" news.
Look, I don't know what to believe about #Pizzagate but I can tell you with 100% certainty that the truth won't come from the mainstream media. But go ahead Colbert and double down on that stupid that had you shocked on election night. You are right about one thing, NOBODY should get their news from comedians, even bad ones.
We the People are SICK of being lied to!!!!

Why does James Alefantis call infants 'retarded whores'? Why do his social media friends support this view? Why is his social media avatar a statue of the 13 year old lover of a roman emperor? Why are three of the logos associated with the business complex mentioned in an FBI file as pedophile symbols? Why does Alefantis compulsively upload pictures of sexualized infants? Why are major media outlets reporting about a small pizza place? Why is this pizza place advertising kid friendliness, hosting events with people making jokes about pedophilia and transvestites rambling on stage about strangling infants during birth with cables? Why are these bands using the same pedophile imagery from the FBI memo? Why were the traffic cameras turned the other way during the time the supposed gunman walked into Comet Ping Pong? Why does Colbert tell his audience that the basement is suspected to be under comet ping pong when we already have footage showing it to be at besta pizza? / Why is this distortion his only argument for dismissal? Why doesn't he mention that all the properties are owned by the same people? Why is there another ping pong establishment in Berlin featuring infants and children on their menu under offers? Why did John Podesta spend time there? Why has the owner of the Berlin Ping Pong bar an internet security business without online presence with a business parter working in import/export? What are they importing from Thailand? Why is the only information on the product they're selling; 'something you might be looking for'? Why are all news outlets simultaniously reporting that this is false even debunked, without a single one conducting an actual investigation or even providing evidence for this being the case? Why are google, facebook, reddit, and youtube so concerned with deleting those videos while ignoring pedophile or terrorist content? Why was a pizza place owner listed as the 49th most powerful man in washington? Why has Tony Podesta naked photographs of neighbourhood kids in his bedroom? Why is Tony Podesta 'excited and wired' because 'children are seated next to him' on the plane? Why is a foster mother anouncing to John Podesta that her little children (3 under 10) will surely be entertaining him by using his whirlpool? Why is Stephen Colbert trying to derail a public outcry for an investigation? What is Stephen Colbert's problem with the police investigating this place? Why didn't he mention that his sister has received funds from the accused? (John Podesta) Why did Andrew Breitbart tweet in 2011 that Podesta covers up a child sex slave ring? (discovered during investigation not before) Why did he have an heart attack shortly after? Why did his coroner die 2 days later of arsenic poisoning? Why do the parents of anti child trafficking activist Monica Peterson, who led an investigation into Clinton Foundation involvement, suspect foul play in the death of their daughter? Why did Colbert sound so nervous? Why are media institutions, instead of proving the claims false, calling for global censorship of journalism? Why did the goverments of Australia and Norway reduce their contributions to the Clinton foundation to zero, in the same week they busted large elite pedophile rings? Why did 10 or so large pedophile rings get busted in the last 3 weeks? Why is Colbert jumping on a sinking ship? just curious.

I was TOTALLY on board with you with you guys when the news broke in November. After doing my own research, I think it's a big pile of nothing. When you get explanations like, "83-year-old Herb Sandler is wondering if he'll fuck kids better on cheese than pasta," there's only so much reasoning and debate to be had.
I've been posting practically non-stop for the last 4 days, hoping that someone, ANYONE will give me a reasonable explanation for my doubts about the Podesta and Stratfor e-mails... the Instagram photos, and the "Dahmer" connection. Look at my post history for the last 4 days. PLEASE refute any of it. Tell me where the "Rosetta Stone" of the e-mail codewords comes from. Surely, there's got to be a FBI document, or the court transcript of a pedophilia trial that shows that MAP = SEMEN, right?

      [–]greyhoundLocker [score hidden]  (0 children)
Yes. I'm quite familiar with the Franklin case. It was horrifying, and something that I hope never happens again.
Using the horror of the Franklin case to justify the witch-hunting of "suspected" pedophiles, based only upon flimsy evidence at best... that is equally horrifying.
      [–]FUCK_GLOBALISTS[S] -1 points0 points1 point  (3 children)
Why was James Alefantis's Instagram picture of a 13 year old boy in a pedophilic relationship with a roman emperor? This was discovered recently. You can't make this shit up. If we had solid incriminating proof these fuckers would be in jail already. What we do have is mountains of circumstantial evidence that makes this case warrent an official serious investigation instead of being laughed off as a dumb conspiracy theory.
      [–]greyhoundLocker 8 points9 points10 points  (2 children)
Antinous is something of a "hero figure" to many in the gay community. He's considered one of the first empowered gays. Alefantis is obviously gay.
This is not "circumstantial evidence". I don't think you understand what that word means. "Circumstantial evidence" would be finding a missing baby's diaper in Comet Ping Pong. Direct evidence would be walking in on somebody screwing said baby.
What you have is a whole lot of tenuous connections, that aren't even remotely admissible into court, or even cause for an official investigation. It's like saying that anyone who played in Sandusky's program at Penn State is also guilty of kiddie diddling.

Wait, seriously,... is he turning into Bob Saget before our eyes?

Internet is very powerful. The hive mind is brilliant. They WILL try to cut it off. #Farenheit451 #Fakenews

I would have expected his personal life tragedy would have galvanized his fortitude. The truth is you don't get to the level of your own late night show if you are unwilling to set aside your ethics; maybe not daily but when called upon to do so. "I guess every form of refuge has it's price"....indeed

      What's his personal life tragedy?
      [–]TebowsHand 2 points3 points4 points  (4 children)
His father and two older brothers died in a plane crash.
      [–]lord_dvorak 1 point2 points3 points  (2 children)

      [–]TebowsHand 1 point2 points3 points  (1 child)
No, when he was a child.
      [–]ninehourssober 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
Shit, that's about the only thing that could be worse than recently.
