Over a week ago, I was banned from r/the_donald for posting a comment. My comment was sarcastic, but in no way trollish. Here is the comment, I'll let you judge whether a ban was warranted.

After I was banned, I replied to the ban and asked why my comment was banned since it was clearly sarcastic. I was told it wasn't seen as sarcastic, and then I was muted for 3 days. Here is that exchange:

I was surprised at how a sub that had been so outspoken lately about free-speech had handled that situation. I know they had a reputation of throwing out bans at any that insult Trump, but I didn't realize they ban for even lightly criticizing Trump as well. I decided not to assume the worst of the mods, and messaged them again 3 days later. Here is that message:

The message is long, so here is the TL;DR= I basically told the mods that their extreme banning lately would hurt their subReddit, and that they should be more open-minded to criticism so their sub could grow and gain support for the man the entire sub is dedicated to. I also asked to be unbanned.

I waited a few days, I didn't receive a response. So I sent a message just asking if they got my message. Because at that point, I was just curious to see what they thought of my message. Here was their response:

They took a line from a comment I made in another sub, and used it against me out of context, then muted me again for another 3 days. In that comment, I was mostly talking about harrassment of users and subs, and how breaking that rule should result in a ban. I wasn't saying that the first sign of breaking any rule should result in an outright ban. But I do admit, I should have clarified that more in that comment, so I understand why they used it. So yesterday, I decided to give the mods another chance and sent a message to see if they got my message. At this point, I had no interest of getting unbanned, I mainly just wanted to get a genuine response for the message I sent. I wanted to see if there were mods on that sub that are reasonable and can actually discuss criticisms of Trump without resorting to childish behavior. This kind of mod behavior is childish and honestly moronic. The mods of that sub are clearly trolling with that kind of response.
