On Thursday night, president-elect Donald Trump showed up at a Cincinnati arena to kick off his post-election “thank you tour.” First of all, let’s call this tour what it is – a crass, self-congratulatory victory lap. It’s a chance for Trump to put aside the annoying responsibility of actually learning how to be president, and instead do what Trump does best: brag, strut around for the cameras, pat himself on the back, do a little petty score-settling, and soak up the applause of his remaining fans who haven’t yet figured out they’ve been swindled. Sure, he could take his duty to the country seriously and spend this time reading the Constitution or glancing at a world map for the first time in his life… but then what would his supporters do with all their chants and adulation? Woe be unto him who stands between Trump’s narcissism and its favorite food. The nation’s well-being will have to wait; Trump must tend to his ego first. A throng of adoring fans awaits!
But wait, what’s this? Vacant seats… a half-empty arena… where is the sea of frenzied admirers? Something must be wrong. Did the event organizers print the wrong date or venue on the posters? It couldn’t possibly mean that enthusiasm has waned since the election due to Trump’s immediate reversal on every significant campaign promise he made… could it? Naaaah, that can’t be it – it must be a mistake! Or… wait… yes! It’s a liberal conspiracy! The lamestream media did this, probably working directly with the DNC and the Clinton Foundation. And ISIS. And BLM. Hell, there was probably a coalition of namby-pamby left-wing college students putting trigger warnings all around the arena! Well, they won’t get away with it – get Breitbart on the phone, they’ll convince the world this was the yugest and most amazing rally since Berlin! Wait, bad example. Don’t let them print that.
Ok, jokes aside, the victory-lap rally turnout was pretty weak. It could be waning enthusiasm – Trump’s obvious incompetence, backtracking on campaign promises, and dangerous foreign policy blunders have even many devoted Trumpkins questioning the wisdom of their votes. But there may be something else at work, a grain of truth hidden in the silly paragraph above… maybe it was a liberal conspiracy after all. A little bird informed me that some Trump critics have been reserving tickets for his upcoming gloat-fests, and – *gasp* – aren’t planning to attend. Thanks to the power of the Internet (and the collective rage of the majority of the country), this effort might leave quite a few seats empty for the remaining events. It might seem like a petty slight at first glance, but think about it: when Donald Trump takes the stage to remind everyone how fantastic he is, he might be yelling his boasts at an arena in which more than half of the seats are intentionally left empty. If there’s a better way to visually remind him (and anyone watching) that more than half of America rejects him, I can’t think of it.
Reservations for upcoming Trump events can be made – for free – on this website.

I checked the site for the Cincinattie arena just prior to the event beginning and it still showed tickets available. So I think it is waning enthusiasm — or the Trump campaign by have been hiring stringers to fill the arenas to begin with. Just saying…..

Will he still be your president for a min of 4 years? Yes. Does this make any difference? No.

Sean Kelly – Don’t count on it. He’ll be lucky to be President four months, before he’s impeached and removed from office. Probably by force. Fine-whatever it takes. As long as he’s gone, I don’t give a damn if he’s removed by flame-thrower.

Just because he cheated to win like he kept saying it’s rigged. I don’t have to accept him as my president and I do not acknowledge that he is my president. He is something to be ashamed of unless of course you’re into total hate racism and taking the country back about 300 years. He’s not my president I don’t have one. It’s a free country and I do not have to acknowledge him as my president because he’s not in my mind and my mind is the only mind that matters to me. The people that voted for him just floor me. He has already gone back on just about everything he promised you and you still follow him. So I can only assume it’s because you’re a hater just like he is.

He certainly could be, but I do not think he will be.
Three scenarios seem to me likely.
1) IMO the most likely… About 2 years in, he will resign, because the demands of the job are too much for him.
2) About 2 years in, he will have a mental breakdown due the constant barrage of public criticism and be removed from office under the 25th Amendment.
3) He will resign and flee the country (his children too) to escape criminal corruption charges.
4) He will be impeached.

Funny. I was at both rallies (before and after the election.). Roughly the same amount of people at both. The picture shown is the section behind the stage where, at any event, most people do not sit, as they would rather face the stage. Full? No. Half full? Yes. But it wasn’t full before the election either, and he won Ohio, KY and IN. Enthusiasm is not waning. Why would people be so nasty as to fake reserve tickets they will not use? If someone did that to an event they wanted to attend, they would be furious!

Eloquent, Ken. I can’t speak for the entire community of people who reject Donald Trump (65 million is too many to speak for), but as for myself, I’d have been fine if a qualified Republican won. It isn’t about Hillary, and it isn’t about “winning” and “losing.” This isn’t a football game. It’s the future of our country, which you have placed in the hands of a dangerously unqualified con man and demagogue.
I temporarily removed my personal information from the site due to threatening messages from Trump supporters. Once I have double checked my online security measures, I’ll be happy to put my name back on each article I write, and I stand behind their content. My experience so far has been that people who opposed Trump have been far more civil than people who supported him. I suppose there is such a thing as a “sore winner.”
That said, feel free to read our other articles and comment, especially if you can muster constructive commentary on the actual content of a piece, rather than juvenile name-calling. It doesn’t offend anyone or make your point – it’s merely laughable and fails to contribute anything meaningful to the discussion.

Which shows that many here claiming to have got 40 tickets and aren’t going are lying. I think this is a sad attempt to cover up the fact that no one wants to go to Trump’s “victory” tour – and to blame it on liberals rather than the obvious reason – no one likes Trump. Perhaps it’s buyer’s remorse, or maybe he didn’t really have the YUGE audiences he claimed to have – maybe the rallies during his run were more staged than real and now that he’s won, they aren’t putting out the same kind of cash to get the seats filled, ergo, no bums on seats. It would have been worth putting out the cash before hand, as they intended to steal the election, and it would be much more difficult to get away with this coup if prior to the election there was no none at the rallies.

We agree (as stated in the article) that the reason for low attendance may very well be plummeting enthusiasm now that Trump has been elected and people are considering what that means. We can assure you that this article is in no way intended to blame liberals – the mention of a “liberal conspiracy” was intended as a parody of many Trump supporters’ tendency to blame their candidate’s failings on the (often imagined) actions of his opponents. We appreciate your comment.

AFAIK, there is no reserved seating, and at least in Cincinnati, they didn’t turn anyone away either online or at the venue. The “little birds” aren’t doing anything other than getting themselves on some mailing lists. I can’t be authoritative, but I think this is spurious.

Thanks for the info, Ed – I’ve been trying to find out more about their verification procedures and how they’re handling admission at the door. My suspicion, like I said in the article, is that the low turnout may be due to the waning enthusiasm of Trump’s supporters. But it’ll be interesting to see if the no-show ticket reservations have an effect on attendance.
I signed up for NC tickets, and so far have not gotten any email from the Trump camp.

In the primaries if the house was not filling up they would let anyone in without checking tickets. As in the primaries no matter how empty,
the media would call it a packed house. In Buffalo the media was calling it a capacity crowd of 11,000 even though First Niagara Center Holds 19,000 most of the 3rd level was empty.

A couple of things about the Cincinnati “victory lap” rally that happened on December 1:
1) Can you ever remember a President-elect taking a “victory lap”? I’m 58 years old, have been keenly aware of election results since 1964, and … I can’t. Who does this?
2) On November 29, around 5 p.m., I ordered four tickets (using two cell phone numbers and two email addresses) for the Cincinnati rally. Of course I had no intention of being there. My effort was focused on creating four empty seats. Here’s what happened:
The Trump website through which I ordered the tickets informed me that “it may take up to two hours!” for me to receive my ticket codes. I waited and waited … and after nearly two DAYS I finally closed the windows on my computer. That was the morning of December 1.
I figured the event had “sold out” (the tickets were free), or that my Idaho zip code had tipped them off that I wasn’t really going to be in Cincinnati.
However …
The same day (December 1, the day of the rally), at 4:59 p.m., I received the following text message on both of my cell phones:
IMPORTANT! Trump|
Pence TY Tour 2016
happening NOW at U.S.
Bank Arena. Don’t miss
this historic event. Doors
are OPEN!
FORTY minutes later, at 5:39 p.m., I received my ticket codes.
If that happened to me, it happened to thousands of other people. Surely some of them had planned to attend the event, but they never got their ticket codes and so they made other plans. Or did Trump and his team think that people were just waiting at the arena doors, hoping to get their ticket codes?
I’d like to think that a bunch of Democrats and other anti-Trump types had something to do with the mostly empty arena in Cincinnati. What I really think, though, is that the Trump/Pence team just doesn’t have its act together.
That, of course, begs the question:
If they can’t even manage a relatively simple, database driven event, if they can’t even get that done in a timely manner, then how are they going to manage much more complex national and world affairs?

Exactly, while I also think its possible someone inside played a little trick, or on the outside hacked to delay those tickets from being sent out, its also quite likely just a mistake that wasn’t caught in time (actually is reminding me of the timing of Hilary’s emails, like someone was supposed to do something, said they did, but then when they saw the half empty arena looked at their account and realized they never completed the last step to get them sent out.).

Maybe it’s not about this. Maybe just like the polls and media couldn’t predict that trump COULD win is why the seats will be empty. Because if someone who declares themselves for trump is attacked. If not physically, then on social media and friends cutting them off. So,just like they kept their vote secret; they will not attend an event that will make them lose loved ones. Maybe the democrats need to realize that they lost and quit protesting and throwing hissy fits. I voted for trump, would you find ME at one of his events? NO! And why? Not because I don’t support him or regret my decision; I do lot want to lose “friends ” over this nonsense. If I am seen publicly supporting him; I am the bad guy. That’s the idea that the mainstream media has put into people’s heads. There is a reason why the media and pollsters didn’t foresee this; because to be seen supporting him would cost a lot in life. Yes we , the working class who has brains all voted for him. Why would we vote for 4 more years of the same? Low wage jobs, souring insurance costs (with Hilary ALL would of gotten worst)
That’s why we voted for trump and hid it. That’s why the seats will be empty. Not because we regret our vote but because we do not want to be attacked by our neighbors and friends.
