Hi guys! This is my first Reddit post, I mostly just lurk through the nosleep subreddit, right before bed lol. Unfortunately I've encountered a situation that's caused my first post to be on this sub instead of a fun one :-(

Basically, I've received several aggressive voice mails from someone claiming to be an employee at a litigation office looking for someone who is not me. The messages have all begun w the disclaimer that this is not about a case against myself but instead for this other person. I haven't been able to catch the calls because they call at a time that I am working . The person they are looking for is close by blood, he's my father's brother, but is a distant relative otherwise; I do not have his phone number, he's never been to my home, the last interaction I had with him was several years ago. My father also has not had contact with him for several years due to a falling out. Because of this, I didn't bother responding; I have no information to give them. Earlier this morning I received another voicemail, this one a lot more aggressive, saying "we will no longer drag our feet on this" and claiming I was this person's girlfriend. Because of the threat I called the number they gave me and the first person I spoke to I told that I would like to be removed from the call list as I have no information on the person they are looking for and they hung up on me! I called again and gave a bit more information, let them know I could not give them any information as I had none, and this person told me they would take a note but that me saying this "would not stop someone from showing up at your home" which caused me to lose my temper. I asked who was contacting me and if I were in danger of being prosecuted or arrested for not giving them information and he told me "no but" and I cut him off and told him to include in the note that I am a crazy person and that it would not be wise to harass me any longer and hung up on him.. lmao .

Anyway, I want to know what I can do ?! I have figured out that they almost definitely are a collections agency of some sort. I am certain they will call again, they have called my father (who I do not live with) and my mother (I do live with her) on multiple occasions and have had aggressive conversations with both of them. I think they are speaking to us so aggressively because they are assuming we would take that as authoritative and give them what they want, but we don't even have what they want! I am tired of the calls and I really do not take well to being threatened.
