Just seen the trailer.

She has a lot of implied badassidy from the trailer but no feats as of yet.

If we compare it to Geralt in his trailers I'd still give him the edge.

They're not even comparable. Geralt is a great example of the old 'strong silent type' trope but he is only silent in the sense that he is stoic, never complains about any suffering he has endured, everything rolls off his back. He's the definition of badass.

Ellie on the other hand is a young girl (I suppose now young woman) who is visibly upset and I guess suffers some mild trauma from things she's experienced. Just because she says she wants to kill someone, that doesn't really make her a badass.

Well judging from the trailer only it seemed like she went medieval one the dudes in that house. That COULD have been pretty badass.

Geralt is far more badass. While Ellie was hiding from those creatures Geralt would have been slaughtering them. Then he'd go back to guy who gave him the contract, get his money and move on without a second thought.

If there's one thing Naughty Dog can do well, it's maximize Sony's hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if the trailer was done using in-engine graphics. I can't remember for sure if any of the LOU trailers were CGI, but they didn't look it at the time.

TLOU cutscenes are prerendered and ingame gameplay models are much lower res. Uncharted 4 early trailer also ended up worse in the game. But ND are great at what they do. I do wish what they did was more ambitious though.

Don't have a PS4 so yesterday I watched TLOU Remastered, edited as a movie on YouTube to see what the fuss is about. Holy shit, now I want to buy PS4 Pro. It is the only game that touched me emotionally as much as the Witcher 3 did. I can only imagine how is it going to be like when I'll finally get to play it myself.

It's like in "Time of Contempt" when they are on Thanned and Ciri fights against the Nilfgardian and commandos and then Geralt is trying to catch up with her he runs into another group of reinforcements.

The Nilfgardian says that Ciri fights with anger and raw fury, where as Geralt fights like a cold blooded expert.

Sure what Ciri did was bad ass, but for Geralt to come in a kill tons of people the machine like efficiency is way more bad ass.

Okay, I love TLOU as much as I love Witcher for very different reasons, as they're completely different games. Let's not do this.
