Trump Explains Air Force One Cancellation: I Want Boeing to Make Money, ‘But Not That Much Money’

Trump tweeted that he was cancelling the contract based on the excessive $4 billion pricetag (where Trump got that number is unclear; previous reports indicated that the Air Force actually only budgeted around 1.6 billion for the project, for multiple planes).
Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!

“Sir, you tweeted about canceling the contract about the new Air Force One?” cued up a reporter.
“Well, the plane is totally out of control,” Trump responded. “It’s going to be over $4 billion. It’s for Air Force One program, and I think it’s ridiculous.”
“I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number,” he said. “We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”
