Yeah, it's agonizing. By now, I'd almost be a bit disappointed if the whole mess doesn't end in civil war, if only as a stress relief.

I've been stacking ammo, building packs and upgrading/purchasing weaponry while mentally preparing close friends and family. I've spent less $1k for enough gear to keep 3 people on the move indefinitely. It's more than doable. Even if this doesn't pan out, if it ever does for any reason, me and 2 others are ready to roll.

Yep. Camping trips are a good way to keep everyone prepared and familiar with procedures if the need to bug out arises.

What's hard is convincing people how much they don't need. I have 2 days worth of food and no large water containers in each pack and they look at me like I'm insane. We live in Florida. Water is heavy, filters are light. Food is everywhere. My vet buddies also rib me about foregoing body armor but they don't seem to grasp that 40 pounds of armor is only realistic when you have supply chains feeding and watering you. The hydration and calorie cost of body armor doesn't meet the cut in true survival math. People really aren't getting that I'm not planning for an overnight. These packs are for living out of indefinitely while maintaining a civilian carry weight (<50 pounds).
