For some reason, whenever I see Donald Trump in his boxy suits and small hands I can't help but see him as a Goomba from the Super Mario Bros movie.

Okay, so I realise this is probably a sure thing, but I could use some reassurance. CA is definitely in our court right? I only ask because some of friends voted for Jill Stein and this is an important election. After 538, I don't know what to trust anymore :(

[–]gpadownI Voted for Hillary

Totally. COMPLETELY. 100% BLUE! If God forbid, Trump is elected, it won't be CA's fault

What do you think happens to the GOP between now and 2020? Do you think they unify, or they split, a la Labour/SDP in the 1980s? And if the GOP does unify, who will they nominate in 2020 - another far-rightist like Pence, Sessions, Cruz or Lankford; or a moderate like Haley, Martinez, Rice or Collins?

[–]MAINEiac4434I'm not giving up, and neither should you

Susan Collins will never run for president. Her moment was 2012. Her speech impediment would also hamstring her and she's too liberal to make it through a GOP primary.

Regardless, the GOP civil war will be bloody.

I have no idea who they'll nominate in 2020.

[–]placeboasisI Voted for Hillary

The establishment will try to distance themselves from Trump, but the fact is that Trump represents a huge portion of the Republican base. If they don't change their primary process, it's going to be very difficult to nominate a moderate.

I am in the UK to, and it is very difficult to draw comparisions. The red line issues for many republicians - for instance, right to chose and the 2nd amendment, have no real mirror in the UK. Equally, whatever our issues in the UK, we just do not recognise issues like voter suppression, or how damned hard some communities have had to fight to get to vote and just be represented.

I am guessing, but the US might have 25% of its electorate that see the red line issues as defining all else. It will still be much harder for a GOP 'moderate' to win their primary than maybe a GE, without playing to that proportion of the electorate, which means they are no longer moderate.

There is little point in splitting, so hopefully they are stuffed, until frankly that 25% reduces over time.

They have always been united against the disenfranchised, they will go back to the norm of just not saying it out loud.

[–]blueshirt21Pokémon Go To The Polls

They sure as hell aren't going to learn their lesson IMHO. They'll fight some more, they'll have some internal tensions, and Trump will constantly be a pain in the ass. But they'll be united for their opposition to Hillary Clinton. Most likely won't learn their lesson. Pick somebody who will talk the talk, but not walk the walk on white grievances, and make some half-assed outreach to minorities. And then panic when they find out that it's not working.

[–]dankmomsI Voted For Hillary!

We know more tomorrow. Upshot is a poll doing together with Siena for NC again.

Alright I will look out for that poll thanks.

[–]dankmomsI Voted For Hillary!

I think she wins NC by 2-3 pts.

Due to voter suppression laws, the black vote is down -9% (when other is FL, GA, LA have grown) from 2012. However, there are lot of college educated whites there that break for Hillary (enough to put her over the top).

I'm not too worried, but not super confident.

[–]blueshirt21Pokémon Go To The Polls

nah, it's looking pretty solid. Theory is that while their turnout may be up, more of these voters are voters who voted on Election Day on 2012, while more of Hillary's voters are ones who are either first time voting or early voted in 2012. They're basically cannibalizing their Election Day turnout to get better early vote turnout.

Independent voters also look like they might break for Hillary, and the overall turnout is more diverse than most polls showed. So it's a good sign there too.

I think business centers like Charlotte are going to help her. Most people there are highly educated and many are not from NC originally. I grew up 77 miles from Charlotte, and I watched it grow from a sleepy little town to a major business hub. We used to call it "North Atlanta," because so many planes flew between those two cites.

This is a NYPD commissioner from the NYPD <> FBI NYC office swap.

He knows who leaks that 691k number to the WSJ probably. Well that number did its job.

Facts:

There were 691k emails in total, also to/from Wiener.

There were much less emails to/from Clinton, it takes about ONE second to filter those out.

It should take about one second to clear out all the emails you already have in a second.

So now i am 2 seconds in to the investigation and just have to look at the emails which are only cat gifs and and yoga schedules. Then i'm probably going to end up with ZERO emails.

The fbi has multiple agents and filtering software. Getting through 650,000 emails in 8 days is completely possible especially when 90% of the 650,000 are probably spam.

There were 650k emails, but that was the total number. They leaked that on purpose to WSJ to set narrative. Emails to/from Huma already much less, emails to/from Hillary even less.

I know, I am just saying going through 650,000 emails in 8 days isn't a feat especially when the investigation is a top priority. I am betting 90% of the emails were spam anyway but the alt right brains know work so guud. They might be big dumb dumbs.

People didn't buy it with Palin, they didn't buy it with Carson, Cain. You can't just put a minority sticker on the platform that actively persecuted minorities and expect it to work.

What does 'putting up' even mean anymore? Look at what happened this time around - 17 people run and a fucking fascist rapeclown runs away with it. GOP has no control.

[–]kittehgoesmeowI Voted for Hillary

they saw Trump as a joke until he kept betting Cruz and Rubio. they tried to empower someone else. but by the time, they realized. it was too late.

[–]kittehgoesmeowI Voted for Hillary

now the RNC has little power because of the voters' will. It's a divided party between the more far right voters and average conservative RNC leadership.

[–]Predictor92Jews for Hillary 0

This guy on Fox News now said "getting jiggy with it". Didn't know it was the '90s.

A Clinton is about to be in the White House, we're way back in the 90s already.

These are the people who brought us Watter's World so it's not particularly surprising.

[–]thiefjuiceI Voted for Hillary

Listen, just because she is so used to this bullshit happening to her and isn't angry as fuck, doesn't mean we should not be. Cause F what the FBI did here. F them all. Turn that anger into door knocks and phone calls!

Damn right! It was nothing, they could have reviewed it in silence. Instead they took her momentum and almost stole the election. Almost but not entirely because for once dems fought back.

At the time Comey sent that first letter, less than two weeks from election day, the media was talking non-stop about the over one dozen accusations of sexual assault facing Donald Trump while repeatedly playing the video tape where Donald Trump himself brags about committing sexual assault. Instead of continuing along that line, they spent the next nine days down this FBI manufactured rabbit hole. We watched a double digit Clinton lead evaporate to become neck-and-neck. Daily FBI leaks kept this sham in the news. Senate and house races have been irrevocably affected.

Comey has to go.

The Senate committee hearings on this leak next year should be fun.

Aide to @HillaryClinton says she rolled eyes, shrugged shoulders when told abt Comey letter. Understated exasperation over all the drama

So I'm watching Fox News and they are talking about how Trump gets to 270. So a girl says "That's why he is going to Minnesota". And the guy says "Are you serio..." And then they cut the rest of his sentence. Like God forbid you think Trump's plan is shit and you get the edit.

Yeah I see that kinda thing almost everytime I check in on them. Either they get cut off or they cut themselves off or go through contorsions to take back what they said.

People seem to have completely forgotten about this but Trump was leading in several polls around that time. There's a reason why Romney courted Trump for his endorsement.
