The user posts and upvotes vulger stuff to try and make it seem like /r/the_donald is responsible for inciting harm and brigades.

The important thing to note is the /r/enoughtrumpspam moderators have stickied the post and so made it a core theme of their subreddit which is only going to encourage more behaviour or that sort.

It hurts the reputation of the subreddit. It overwhelms the moderators. It attracts the wrong people to a community . It creates similar content because subreddits follow any trends .

This kind of attack has been seen many times before.

e.g.

• False flag shenanigans whereby TwoXChromosomes users post fake harassment to try and get it off the defaults

• default moderator posts blatant antisemitic content to attack /r/conspiracy

• and of course we don't forget when SRS posted Child Porn to subreddits to force their closure (sorry no link)
