This is the full version of the world map for the fan-fiction Fly to Live: Chronicle of an Exiled Viking Boy on fanfiction.net and AO3. The world portrayed is completely original. This map can occasionally be updated with additional details or adjustments. This is currently the 5th iteration (Jul 2016).

. I'm still improving upon it though, so it might be updated in the future, as soon as I learn how to actually draw mountains and rivers and such

PS: uhmm... what play on words? I'm not sure I intended to make any joke with my user name o.o. It's just Eret's full name without spaces. At least that's all I intended it to be

. Does it contain some double meaning that has escaped my attention? I'm asking because you are not the first one to comment on it, and maybe there's something I'm missing XD.

Your username? Oh I don't know. I hope I didn't offend you or anything. I just thought it was funny for some reason. EretsonofEret the guy who hated dragons now a witness to the worlds greatest dragon master now chronicling stories of Berk and the area the vikings control. I just thought it was interesting.

Offend me? Not at all

. I just liked his character as an outsider, fit for redemption after what he had done, so I took that name

. In fact, if I ever write a sequel to my main story (closer to the plot of httyd2), he'll surely be a central character. In my view, Eret doesn't so much hate dragons, as he fears Bludvist's power, which makes him easier to redeem. I admit I've already written a scene synopsis with him ^^.

It's actually a nice idea to make him the future chronicler of Hiccup's story. In fact, I might consider making his chapters in first person for the sequel, as if he's aware of being the author. Thanks for the idea!

It's just a synopsis I wrote in case of a sequel; I haven't published it ^^'. I often write down scenes I like just in case I might one day use them. I just mentioned it to say that I'm seriously considering making Eret a much more relevant character in the sequel.

All I can say is that it's a piece about Eret docking his ship in a large harbour and visiting a particular "place" where a particular woman works (or used to work...), before setting off with his crew for the next dragon-hunt. It's set in a one of the largest cities between Bludvist's empire and the Archipelago, though I'd rather not reveal where it is on the map yet. I actually need to finish the current story first

Well, if you want I could send you the synopsis in a private message, if you promise not to divulge it publicly. It contains some details about who Eret is (will be) in my AU. It's very short, and kind of a jumbled mess which has a long way to go before becoming an actual polished chapter. It's just a scene I wrote in one go to get it out of my head and save it for later. It's also supposed to be rather sad. Punctuation is barely respected, but if you still want to read it I'll send it to you.

Bludvist or Bloodfist? I've never actually seen the written form of it, I thought it was Bloodfist though. xD Bludvist sounds Nordic enough though. P8

He does think about it that way from what I've seen. Good way of putting it.

It's actually Bludvist, at least according to the HTTYD Wikia

. I admit I don't really like it much as a name. I find it to be a little on the nose, but Bloodfist would have been even more obvious, even for the villain of a kid's movie

. Those at Dreamworks apparently couldn't help it though, and they still made Tuffnut say "I'll bloody his fist with my face (...)" ... but I digress XD.

I have a pretty clear idea for how to develop Eret's personality in my rendition of that universe, however there's still a long, looooong way to go before I get to that part of the story
