I know it's going to be gruesome, and many of us will feel an overwhelming urge to turn on our TVs to watch the carnage. However, I think we need to start encouraging people to pledge to turn the TV off and keep it off during the inauguration. Make those ratings plunge. Do something else, anything else. Read a book (I recommend Dog Whistle Politics by Ian Haney-Lopez), go have lunch at a restaurant owned by a Muslim or a LGBT person, spend the afternoon volunteering at a homeless shelter, enjoy some freshly-legalized weed if you're in CA/MA/NV and toast to Jeff Sessions, go pick up trash on the beach, whatever. Do something for your own enjoyment and/or for the betterment of the world, however slight, instead of giving that piece of shit any more of the attention he desperately craves. Let the lowest inaugural ratings of all time grate at his ego, right along with his shattering popular vote loss and what is certain to be the lowest approval rating of any President in history.
