Herrera has been one of our best players this season.

Internet overreaction is the fucking problem.

Lol he is part of the solution. IF only players on our team gave half as much a shit every week like he did... fuck the stats, they're meaningless for this debate.

I would have to disagree with this. Personally, our wing play has been poor to me. Rashford has been poor in the past few games and I think needs some rest. On the right side, countless times yesterday Valencia would run on the right, see no one ahead of him, fake a cross and then pass back.

He's not the problem, but I do think we play better with Carrick.

is where my dog shits on his walk the problem?

5 wins when dog shits in first 10 mins 6 draws when dog shits in last 10 mins.

cant deny the facts

definitely not I'm sorry but Herrera has been exceeding expectations this season

Was it his fault for the amount of clear cut chances missed?

Or the defence not paying attention to simple crosses and set pieces?

We can argue football is a team game but both areas of the pitch where it is going wrong he isn't causing the problems.

He's a consistently good player, with awesome workrate and thats what we need alongside Pogba's magic but sometimes lack of defensive discipline. Also has an eye for a pass and has 3 lungs.

If i can add something i'll say our wingers have been disapointing recently, and the emergence of mkhitaryan in our team will be the turning point of the season I feel.

I agree with this. Probably not going to be a popular opinion but if we do end up having to play Darmian on the left at times, I would rather have a Young type of winger over a Martial/ Rashford because otherwise the game gets too narrow and we get crowded out (or fuck up the chances we do end up making)

[–]House_Of_LannisterAnd who are you...? 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

Nah mate... I don't think Darmien is a solid starter - I DO think our LB has a major influence on our game and therefore think we don't have someone who is tied into that position. Not like when we had Irwin for example or Evra.

We have 3 maybe 4 potential players in LB being Darmien, Shaw, Blind and Rojo... in which 2 are slowly converting to CB.

Out of Shaw and Darmien - because their qualities are so distinct, they should be used according to the opponent. I.e - changes on a match by match basis.

I also think Shaw is good enough to grow into that position and at some point (hopefully in near future) he will be THE solidified LB for us.

Hey, Yes I agree with you on Shaw. I was merely commenting on Darmian. WHEN we end up playing him, there were no attacks coming in from the left yesterday..although ofcourse thats not entirely his fault. Hence why I said I would rather play Young type of players in those cases. Would you agree? A team which has Shaw in it (who in my opinion also needs to work on his crossing), can flourish with Rashford/ Martial ahead of him. My dream team would probably have Mata as 10, Mkhi as a RW with Valencia behind him( granted that Mkhi does tend to drift in as well), and Martial on the left (Provided he doesnt keep asking for the ball to his feet and instead make runs into spaces behind the defenders) with Shaw behind him. For me the big revelation of the season has been the herrera + pogba partnership.

On the note of his workrate, and a potential relation to OP stats:

His workrate is that good, and he is that passionate, that players may feel they can "relax" a little when he plays which ofc... turns out to be counter-productive. If they all followed his workrate, we'd be in a much different position.

I know it's easy to want to find one single scapegoat but the fact of the matter is, our troubles are more than onefold. There's the injuries (almost our entire defence is on the brink of death), some inexcusably terrible referee decisions, Jose finding his best starting XI and then changing it, some players in bad form (Ibra's record goal drought, Rooney went missing early in the season) and so on. Stop trying to find one specific reason why we have underperformed, it's more complex than that.

Sounds to me like you're just reeling off excuses though...

We don't have a major injury crisis this year. Our defense is just a shambles tactically.

We do have a problem with the starting XI - commitment issues maybe.

Bad form? Or just not good enough? Not good enough to live up to the hype... Sorry Zlatan but you've been underwhelming - Love the link up play and things but disappointing otherwise.

Rooney? in bad form? When was he in good form? Good form meaning longer than a month...

The stats are very worrying to me

[–]Moriarty_LogicOle Gunnar Solskjær 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Well, there's one simple issue. Our strikers are playing rubbish. Our midfield is creating chance after chance, but our forwards are doing fuck all. Herrera plays his heart out for the club. I would not call him a problem.

Memphis Depay and Schneiderlin are the problem. We are struggling this season because they have not started.
