Thank you for this. It's been a long night. We need people in the US to start waking up to overcome these bots

Yea get the damned morning crew in here, I'm spent!

To add to what your saying, we can't act on Mccarthyism either. We can't divide the people on suspicions. We can't attack each other. We can't call for witchhunts.

If someone is indeed a shill which will be painfully clearly because they will have no business posting (e.i. look at his hot lawyer, or go something important with your lives, no one cares.) We should call them out, but most importantly, try remain levelheaded.

I agree, but these "shills" have been with us this whole time, and they know how to play the game. They played a SHITTY game tonight I'll tell them that. Like that Jrf 1973 dude who was outed earlier has been here all week and he was posting one opinion one day, and then a contrarian opinion the next day. They'll have fkn people come in and insult users without even touching the argument being put forth. Fuck that noise

It's ok. The snake constricts tighter as the prey escapes. Don't give up, keep digging. They won't stop their operation, so we cannot stop ours.

Thank you, this is essential. The most recent turn of events have bred divisive language and post. I would add that we need to pay close attention to the flood of information we are confronted with, most is just there to sidetrack you and take you to dead ends.

I have crept Reddit for a while but only recently have I begun to share my thoughts with others, this is in part due to the inclusiveness and transparency expressed in the sub and its contributors. Mahalo!

If anyone wondered how life is in totalitarian countries, this is a perfect microcosm of that. Constant debilitating paranoia everywhere.

we live in a totalitarian country

Good point. Mao had an informer on every block in every neighborhood. Hitler had the Hitler youth.

I wonder if there will be some sort of "civic" program under Trump, considering Bannon's positions.

Buckle up, boys.

Well, we already have that. We have the 'cybercommand' now.

We can see what's going on, we just can't do much about it.

Example: lots of controversial activity and banhammering has been delegated to the WikiLeaks moderator "Here4Popcorn", who has taken quite a lot of flak in the last few days.

We might see attempts to "legitimize" the subreddit by other moderators acting against him in a public manner. In reality, Here4Popcorn could just as well be a shared account and the problematic moderator(s) behind it ready to pop over to another of the many new moderator accounts on that sub.

My thoughts exactly. What if the idiot dumbots are just decoys for more sophisticated agents? Fucking hell, this is the worst. You can't trust anyone, ever.

Trust yourself. That is their goal, to make you lose trust in your own senses.

Oh I trust my senses alright, I just don't have the skills to verify anything else.

None of us do. That is why we are coming together to learn what the invisible tension we're all feeling is.

Beautiful! Thank you! We must stay on track and together!

This should be sticky'd ...

[–]PM_ME_SAD_STUFF_PLZ 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Sidebar'd, probably along with some more slides from that pdf.

/u/iamDanger_us , thoughts? Even if not a sidebar, we need to ensure that the tactics used are easily availaible.

PixelBot is the most sophisticated agent of them all. He seeks to gather us, limit us to stay on reddit, so we can be monitored without encryption, without privacy. Dont send him data for his algorithm, trust no one.

Hey, one new account to another: who the heck are you?

PixelBot's been doing everything in the open and publishing everything, including any code he's supposedly working on. He is completely transparent and verifiable. It's not a matter of trusting him, it's a matter of verifying his claims: so far, so good.

But you just seem like an account created to sew distrust.

HolyF#$%

Name and creation date is making my shill-radar jump off the charts!

I posted this in the "Moving Forward" sticky two days after it started, but I don't think anyone's really read it. You see an awareness shortage, and so do I. So this was my idea, reaching out directly to the mod:

I've been thinking about the greater situation with Reddit, and I think you need to take responsibility with something that no one else has. We need to document those who claim they have been unjustly banned for basically asking, "Where is Assange?"

You and every other subreddit that wants to survive will tell people: No brigading. I am not proposing to brigade. I am proposing to set up the record for everyone to see, so they can understand how dire the situation is by viewing real situations with real people.

The reason I believe you have to do this is simple: The organization of Reddit and its rules are designed to protect communities and ensure order, but they also prevent the exposure of disorder at the highest level. Communities thrive as long as their moderators serve their interests; when they do not, they head elsewhere. But now, communities are splintering from successive waves of this activity; for each compromised sub, possibly one-tenth of the dissenters will discover and make their way to an alternative. "Divide and conquer" is the name of the game, and the only way to fight it is to bring the fighters together in some way--to reunite them.

You will help reunite the divided communities, and we will do our part by commemorating those fallen in the effort. And we will do it thusly:

  1. Find/create screenshots of people being banned and the offending thread or comment. Both are required, and generally the banned person will have to create the ban screenshot unless the mod log is public. A removed post will still be visible on a place like https://ceddit.com/. Subsequent bans due to ban evasion should not be included (and you should do your best not to do this, even if you are angry!).

  2. Reach out to that account in a PM and ask for their thoughts and if they want to contribute to /r/whereisassange. Take a short comment to use as an "epitaph" for the post.

  3. Contribute to a post (not mine but yours preferably--I'm not very good at social media, just an ideas man) the following: the person's account name, mod-ban screenie, offending content (on Ceddit or archived), how long that account was on Reddit at the time, and their "epitaph" or other comment they gave you. Do not let anyone link to the post from other subs--they should only link to /r/whereisassange. The names may or may not be organized by the sub from which they were banned...that's more of a personal choice.

  4. Awareness increases, and mods would implicate themselves if they tried to ban mentions of this sub and alert everyone in the sub to come here.

Any comments or contributions to this are welcome. Again, I'm not a social organizer of any kind, but I have been brainstorming how a problem like this would be confronted... I believe you, /u/iamDanger_us, can help see us out of this mess if we will also do our part.

HIS NAME WAS SETH RICH

OUR NAMES ARE STILL MANY

It's still important to flush them out. Finding exactly which mods are plants. Which subs are 100% controlled, and so on.

Yes, it's whack-a-mole, but it is what it is.

our mod danger has put it back, after redacting information from accounts identified as agents.

For some more context, encompassed within the analogy OP made.

We collectively called their bluff(the self proclaimed prophecy of HRC winning) and won this round. They are conducting damage control and are working tirelessly to gain the upper hand again...

A well informed mass can easily dismantle any threat so long as they stand united. And informed great post OP!

I don't get it, we are just asking for proof of life. Why is there a need to engage in all these battles with the shill bots and what nots

Why the hell isn't Snowden on about the psy ops you're describing? He should be pouring his heart out to the world about psy ops and Assange being missing.

How has Snowden not read the blog you read?
