Try to stay organized, buy groceries (don't eat out a lot), make sure to pay bills first (including an amount for saving, i.e. pay your future self). It's common sense stuff, but the sooner one accepts these basics the better off one will be. Try a lot of different diy stuff when you get an inkling about something or a problem comes up. It might take you half a day, but the more you do it the more efficient you will get. It will save you money, time, and give you control over the quality of the result. Do not focus on things that are outside of your control. Focus on what you can change. Typically that begins with looking objectively at the way one thinks and behaves, that you can always change.
