During the famous Frost/Nixon interview, Richard Nixon chillingly said that something is inherently legal if a President does it - that, in other words, all laws (including the Constitution) mean nothing except as a President chooses to arbitrarily interpret them. That in effect a President is not only a monarch, but an absolute one.
America dodged a bullet by impeaching that psychopath, but we now face another one - an even crazier, even less responsible one, surrounded by even more vile criminals. In response to the Constitutional requirement that he give up his businesses, Donald Trumpler has asserted that there is no such thing as conflicts of interest in a Presidency. That any business arrangement he chooses to engage in from power is inherently valid and legitimate.
Laws and ethics do not apply to him. His bizarre absolutist claim is a warning shot against the republic that has had ample warnings of his dictatorial intentions.
