It's really weird seeing Fallout 3 fans complaining about a lack of depth and a dumbing down of Fallout in 4, when that was precisely my issue with 3.

It's really hard for me to take these issues seriously when the paragon of depth and intelligent gameplay is one of the dumbest RPGs I've ever played.

Idk, F3 sidequests were pretty fun and unique. It was a gentle introduction for people unfamiliar with ES or Fallout using familiar tropes. Unfortunately this also meant watering down the lore.

I would've respected the game a lot more if Bethesda had been more creative in their worldbuilding. Cramming the Enclave, the Brotherhood of Steel and FEV mutants into an east-coast setting didn't make any sense. Fallout 4 is way better in that regard.
