Unfortunately, I'd argue that Pence is the greater evil.

I'm inclined to agree. Trump may be a narcissistic sociopath but at the end of the day, he's a Manhattan silver spoon socialite with a history of voting Democrat. Worst case scenario, I'd say he's similar to NK's Kim in that both are too rich and spoiled to actually do anything crazy (e.g. nuking someone) for fear of losing their lavish lifestyles.

Pence on the other hand, is a creationist, a climate change denier and someone who views the Earth as some abstract proving ground where humans suffer and are tested prior to eternal salvation/damnation. He scares the shit out of me.

He's bad, but I will offer this- we have a history of his votes and how he likes to do things. He's an evil we can systematically fight if we look at what he did and how he did it in Indiana. He also, for better or worse, does believe in the constitution. Even if he hates women and the LGBTQ community. We know what to watch out for.

I don't know if Pence would be worse, tbh. Trump does whatever the last person told him to (see: Trump saying he won't repeal all of Obamacare) and promised Kasich he would have all the power if he accepted to be VP, so I think we'll see most of Pence's agenda implemented anyway. At least Pence wouldn't be completely irrational and probably wouldn't start stupid wars or scare away our allies.

Also, it terribly fracture the Republican party, giving Dems a much better chance. Many Trump supporters would resent the Republicans for impeaching Trump. And then there's the matter of whether or not Pence would pardon Trump - if he did, public opinion would mostly turn against Republicans for letting him get away with whatever he did, and if he didn't, Republicans lose many of those Trump voters forever.
