Bethesda - the most dissapointing thing in gaming this year? (self.Fallout)

This is probably gonna get downvoted to hell lol but whatever. Rant time :) Does anyone else agree that Bethesda has been the most dissapointing company in gaming these past 12 months? (Probably gonna be long btw...)

First they release Fallout 4, the worst Fallout game ever...

(- Never played 1&2 but I heard they're amazing, def gotta check them out.

  • FO3, my first and Bethesda's first Fallout game! "Great! Amazing, yay! YAS BETHESDA!"

-FNV!! Obsidian OG's come back and make the Best Fallout Game Ever ♡)

-FO4. What the fuck this is the worst Fallout game ever. Love the companions! Nick, Piper, Cait, my bae Hancock, MacCready ♡ but the story is horrible. The idea of whether not synths are alive was great. Not a new idea, it's been done in everything from Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sleep? to my fav game ever Mass Effect, but um yeah ~ The main story of Fallout 4 is ironically the weakest part of the whole story.)

So! With the mess of that story out of the way... let's talk about the #1 reason I'm dissapointed with Fallout and Bethesda! :) Payed $90 for a pre-order! Super excited! Um the pre-paid DLC mostly sucked lol. Far Harbor was cool, loved that it explored the idea of Synths more. Robot whatever was cool too, story was blah but I liked the robot workshop and being able to turn Codsworth into a tank :) But um, mostly settlement shit...what if you don't like building settlements and like me, even your settlers in the most basic settlments like Sanctuary are starving and have no water lol. New Vegas and FO3 had amazing DLC...but once again, FO4 DLC sucked. So Bethesda, thank you for teaching me to never pre-order again! :)

Skyrim "Special Edition" - "Remastered"... Um. Mods on consoles is so cool and as an XB1 player I love it. But w/o mods the game still looks like shit. If it wasn't for the fact that you could download mods, probably wouldn't have got it. Def not worth $60. Yikes.

Sooooooo yeah! :) That's it. That's why Bethesda has, in my opinion, been the worst thing in gaming this year.

Here's to 2017 and Bioware saving us all with Andromeda!

Wait... There was plenty of gameplay of Skyrim Remastered released before the launch. You were 100% aware of what the game entailed, yet you still bought it. How can you complain? Edit: You also completely overlooked Dishonored 2, which averaged in the 8-9 range for reviews, and DOOM for crying out loud! It's like anything that isn't in your bubble doesn't exist to you...

I definitely agree that Fallout 4 was definitely weak, though not wholly unenjoyable. A bit too much of a focus on settlement building and not enough story and side quests.

However, most disappointing game company of the year? I've got one word for you:

DOOM.

Granted they were just the publishers but they helped realize one of my favorite games ever.

As for Andromeda, I'm not holding my breath on that game saving us all. As it's better to say that EA is making it rather than Bioware.

To be honest, I'm actually nervous about Andromeda lol. Like I said, Mass Effect is my fav game ever and I love ME2 but 3 was eh. I'm staying hopeful and positive but I'm not pre-ordering. Learned my lesson to never do that the hard way.

Oh for the love of god the way some people go on and on about fallout 4 you'd figure it was some sort of national tragedy when here's the gist of it, "They tried some new things some of them worked some didn't." You could say the same thing about most sequels. I think calling them the most disapionting thing in gaming just because they didn't personally please you is gross over exageration.

Purely out of Interest, what was your opinion on nuka world? You seemed to miss it in the original post.
