This is the kind of bullshit that gets us eight years of Donald Trump.

Calling them out on their ties to Russia is the right thing to do. Calling out the FBI and the media for their flaws is the right thing to do.

But saying "we aren't at fault whatsoever for this result" is fucking laughable and dangerous. Huge mistakes were made by our side. We DO need to change a whole lot. We should have beaten Trump even with the advantages you pointed out.

It's okay to point out their flaws while also recognizing we made mistakes.

Agreed, there was a lot that could have been done. We could have had a better candidate. We could have hammered his plan to innocent families, we could have beaten him in policy. We failed in many ways, and I don't want sit back and watch the DNC field Tim fucking Kaine and have us get slaughtered again.

I mean, how do you fight the narrative of 'Washington is broken, Establishment is boogeyman, experience and expertise means nothing, we want yokels off the street to be our leaders' that the Tea Party nutters have successfully taken over the government with? The American people by a vast majority all agree that Congress is the problem, and then half of them (the idiotic half) go and reward the obstructionist assholes who created the problem in the first place. That tells the GOP they were right, that they can do it again and expect the country's citizens to reward them again. Really shitty cycle that I don't know how we can break.

The house is on fire. We should put out the fire before starting to rebuild.

the FBI helped steal an election and he's getting away with it. I haven't seen anything about how badly Comey fucked up or how corrupt the FBI has become since the election. No proposals for reforming an institution that should be for American values but is instead actively tearing them down.

Question: if the FBI had actually acted appropriately, and the media had done their goddamn job, who do you think would have won? A lot of people are going to say Clinton wasn't the greatest candidate, and mistakes were made. But realistically, she doesn't deserve the lions share of the blame. She made policy speeches, she talked about how she would help coal workers find new jobs. Trump was selling a pipe dream. Instead of providing a good view about what Clinton would do, the media kept harping about emails. Every trump policy speech was hyped as this huge thing, and he always got tons of live coverage for his events. Clinton may not have been perfect, but give blame where blame is due.

I agree but also disagree.

Despite all this meddling from Russia and the FBI as well as the GOP's gerrymandering, Hillary should have been able to annihilate a misogynist, incestuous sociopath with a history of sexual assault, blatant lies, xenophobia, and racism whose campaign by all indications was unprepared, unready, and disorganized. Even if you compare the popular vote count, she is beating him by just around 1% (and barely so - at current count, she is at a 50.7:49.3 lead). This should have been a blowout landslide victory with a 10 point difference. It should not have been a nail-biter, let alone a loss.

What should she have done to win over racists?
