Possible Talking Points

  • Some very promising performances all over the pitch - Mkhitaryan was obviously brilliant in the second half and good in patches in the first. Hopefully that gives him the confidence to push on if he gets the nod against West Ham. Rooney has been much better the last few matches and his goal was really well taken. His assist for Mata was fantastic too.

  • He didn't have a huge amount to do defensively but Carrick was one of the reason we could keep them pinned back. Whenever they looked to make an easy pass Carrick suddenly appeared to either cut off the avenue or put pressure on the player receiving it. His reading of the play is so important in that midfield.

  • Pogba again had a good game - really helped to keep the ball moving quickly had some nice link up play too

  • Ibrahimovic still hasn't found his finishing boots - the rest of his game is largely fine but he really needs to start putting chances away

Something else I forgot to mention but I've mostly been impressed by Jones since his comeback from injury. Looks very assured at the back.

Anyway, I'm not going to get carried away by that result but it's nice to see us actually putting some of the chances away at Old Trafford. The Stoke, Burnley then Arsenal match in a row were so frustrating and hopefully this breaks the seal open and we start scoring the goals our recent play has deserved.

Aside from great performances from Carrick, Mata, Pogba, Mkhitaryan and the like, I was also encouraged to see us continuing to press Feyenoord even when up by 2,3 goals. It's not quite top tier opposition but it's a start. On to the hammers.

U think the next 4 games are going to be really important for us. The game against Everton could put us back in top 4. We really need some consistency. Zorya is a must win to for the teams confidence, and a chance for 1st spot in the group.
