I usually post sarcasm, jokes, sometimes I tell OPs about being proud of them and such. This time, however, I'm going to give you some info some of you might not yet know. This post is not for those who know this already, it's for those who don't, but you can still tell me you already knew that. It's a good thing to know, it gives you some power, a way to un-distract yourself, a way to ignore online trash easily.

Google 'hosts file' for your operating system for more info on it. Read it, it's simple stuff.

1. Locate your hosts file on your computer.

2. Add some entries to it, like for example:

0.0.0.0 www.facebook.com

0.0.0.0 facebook.com

0.0.0.0 huffingtonpost.com

0.0.0.0 www.huffingtonpost.com

0.0.0.0 elitedaily.com

0.0.0.0 www.elitedailty.com

add other junk sites you don't want to be exposed to even if you click a link to it by mistake.

Save the file and that's it. When your computer (or you) tries to open those addresses in your browser it will be directed to your own computer instead and produce "This web site does not exist" or something similar, instead of garbaged trash.
