Is that happening? These new ones are the worst honestly.

I thought they'd be the best, considering they're busting a pedo ring. But, no. All I've seen on the pedo busting subverse is a million and two posts bitching about reddit, and a few posts talking about how spez is a cannibal over an obvious joke. Really delegitimizes what they're doing honestly.

That was an unrelated rant but...sorry.

[–] NeedleStack [S] 5 points 12 points (+17|-5) ago

I saw most of the revenge talk in /v/TheDonald. It's behavior that Mr. Trump himself would not tolerate.

[–] hamhamham 1 points 4 points (+5|-1) ago

It might be a good idea to have a "cooling off" period for new users, something like a 50 ccp cap for the first 2 months? That way, new users wouldn't be able to down vote and brigade subs immediately.

Whatever we do, we want to makes sure voat doesn't end up like reddit.

[–] Blackkcalb 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

I will get you for that.

Going by the top posts of all time, everytime there is a wave corresponding threads about the drama flood /v/all for a few days.

Also, a lot of us here have nothing to do with pizza gate, or cannibal conspiracy theories and found out about voat through the fallout from the drama.

[–] Owlchemy 1 points 10 points (+11|-1) ago  (edited ago)

And you, as with all, are welcome. Just realize this stuff gets overwhelming for us Voaters who've been around awhile, when a new flood enters our midst. We all enjoy this place, a place of relative peace, and wish all you newer folks well. So don't take the complaints out of context. We just aren't Reddit, and don't intend to become a mirror site of some kind. Otherwise WELCOME aboard. We have lots to offer.

[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

These new ones are the worst honestly.

I thought they'd be the best

this is pretty subjective honestly we're essentially moving down the political spectrum so the people remaining on reddit will always be a bit more moderate and or left-leaning than the people here. So there will be growing pains, and it's hard to say if this changes voat for the better. Personally I just push "go back to reddit memes" and my views on WW2 where I can in the hope that it will drive off the worst of them

[–] FrozenFire74 0 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago

Doxxing has nothing to do with left leaning principles (maybe in the DNC, but that's an entity, not an ideology). I've also seen CCP circle jerks so that the users can start downvoating. That's abusing the system, not a liberal ideology.

OP brings up valid points about some of the more vocal refugees. I won't say they're all cunts, but some have earned that badge.

But they're all faggots now, Welcome to Voat.

[–] zx1 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

So you're saying if you're not alt-right, then GTFO of Voat?

[–] MrPim 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

[–] solar_flare 3 points 2 points (+5|-3) ago  (edited ago)

There's only one comment in that thread that I saw that had anything to do with this post's rant. It wasn't even calling for doxing users or ordinary people, but admins of Reddit to be more specific "offending admins." Here's the comment: https://voat.co/v/TheDonald/1432227/6910405

There's an interesting topic to ponder, if exposing personal details of leaders of large powerful organizations is against Voat's rules, then things like Wikileaks could be censored here.

Edit: Sorry there was another one downvoted at the bottom that I missed: https://voat.co/v/TheDonald/1432227/6911472

[–] alalzia 0 points 22 points (+22|-0) ago

Pff , you are talking to refugees from politically underdeveloped , authoritarian , densely populated areas of the internet where they were herder like dumb animals scrapping some upvotes under the heavy hand of their masters. Domesticated beasts return to their feral nature after they slip from the master's grip .

[–] IAmAShill 6 points 7 points (+13|-6) ago

You're saying there's been an influx of niggers?

[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 4 points 11 points (+15|-4) ago

worse than niggers: leftists, these are the kind of people that work to import niggers, rapists, terrorists, and criminals if they gain power

[–] Greyhawk56 3 points 2 points (+5|-3) ago

No judgement, but is it common to read the "N" word on this site? I'm new, and trying to decide if VOAT is for me, and just wondering about this. I choose to be politically neutral, as Jesus was,
but because of what has been happening (an awakening of the masses to the insideous nature of the demonic shadow government) I am interested in the fight for unsensored freedom of speach. I am also keeping on the watch for Bible prophecy that is, moment by moment, being fulfilled. We are living in a very terrible, and at the same time, exciting time.

[–] lexsird 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

An analogy of it would be that Deddit is like the middle east and Soros had $hillary and Obama blow it up and the rapefugees flooded to Voat which is Europe. We've probably made a mistake of spreading our legs wide open welcoming refugees here, but we've got open borders.

Instead of niggers and mudslimes, we've got Leftists. I also don't think that they're all 'refugees', they're just dirty rat fuck Leftist terrorists slipping in with the refugees so they can trash shit. After all THEY FUCKING LOST and now they want to trash everything like the filthy little rope bait vermin that they all are. Keep pushing mother fuckers, the day of reckoning is coming.

[–] solar_flare 0 points 12 points (+12|-0) ago

Meh, if it's legal speech, I think they should have at it, but this is where Voat fails. Voat's policy should just be: "Keep your speech legal." Instead there's enough vague rules to have the same crap happen here with the onerous censorship. Take a gander at the vague rules open for interpretation:https://voat.co/help/useragreement

Last I checked investigators and journalists have exposed many people's real world identities, it's their job, and legal free speech in the USA.

[–] 3dk 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Doxxing and brigading is legal in most places, I think, so subverses about it shouldn't get removed. Despite that, it's still worth telling people that it's shitty behavior. It can give the site an undeserved bad image.

[–] solar_flare 1 points 6 points (+7|-1) ago  (edited ago)

The comment that OP is ranting about is this: https://voat.co/v/TheDonald/1432227/6910405

It didn't call for doxing ordinary users but "offending admins." Also the brigading thing is whatever to me, reddit can ban their accounts, if they so desire.

Here's basically what doxing is: the Internet-based practice of researching and broadcasting private or identifiable information (especially personally identifiable information) about an individual or organization.

I mean it's one thing if you're violating HIPPA are something like that, but this definition is basically what journalists are trained to do. The user that commented about doxing the admins didn't say to break the law. I mean if we're going to say no doxing of people that run/own large powerful organizations, then maybe Wikileaks needs to be censored here as well?

Edit: there was another comment I missed downvoted at the bottom: https://voat.co/v/TheDonald/1432227/6911472

[–] Bing11 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

The problem is that illegal doesn't mean immoral, and immoral doesn't mean illegal. And that's not even counting on different legal jurisdictions.

Whose laws do we follow? USA? EU? Our local country? Our own new one?

[–] solar_flare 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

This website is based in the USA, so US law.

[–] EllenPaosEgo 1 points 1 points (+2|-1) ago

We should hit them where it hurts, their wallets. Go to all of plebbits advertisers and comcern troll about plebbit keeping CP subs, while banning the ones trying to bust a pedo ring. Say that you are concerned how people might view your product if it advertised on a site that supports pedophilia. None of that is illegal, nor breaks Voats rules. Start a good old GG letter writing campaign against plebbits advertisers, and let the chans worry about doxing the plebbit admins.

[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

nobody is saying the site should regulate them, what a lot of people are asking for is them to regulate themselves in consideration of others and where they are

[–] solar_flare 1 points 0 points (+1|-1) ago

But to call for doxing of reddit admins and brigading reddit subs and using voat as a 'base of operations' against reddit (I've seen all of this coming from recent refugees) is not going to get tolerated here (aside from being against voat's rules).

[–] Gerplunckamo 3 points 10 points (+13|-3) ago

I like the idea of Voat ruining innocent people's lives tbh. It really helps our overall image.

/s

[–] weezkitty 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Lol our image already sucks for the average user. Just look at what Google links suggest when you search for Voat

[–] eagleshigh 2 points 3 points (+5|-2) ago

The truth about niggers must be known.

[–] Biplane 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Everyone on other sites assumes that racist pedophiles reside here that obess over other's body image.

[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 1 points 7 points (+8|-1) ago

being the bad guys isn't necessarily a bad image it wards off the intellectually lazy

Needle... It's a knee-jerk reaction that will soon pass. I remember coming here after CT was banned along with thousands of other members and revenge was a big topic for a week or two. After realizing how much better VOAT was than that shithole, our greatest revenge became indifference. Let them stew in censorship, political correctness and shadow bans. If it wasn't for the small size of the community that v/pizzagate was 10 days ago, I never would have even gone back for a visit.

[–] eagleshigh 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Well said brother. Still remember our migration like it was yesterday. Good times.

[–] NeedleStack [S] 1 points 1 points (+2|-1) ago

Thanks, I appreciate your comment. The threats and ire coming from some of the new accounts seem very different this time. Of course I hope you're right. I'm enjoying the discussion the post has inspired though.

[–] townbike 6 points 6 points (+12|-6) ago  (edited ago)

hear, hear!

this should be a sticky. it would be a bad thing for any user to conflate voat's free speech with a free for all of shit behavior such as doxxing or organizing ddos' etc

edit: added words

[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 1 points 7 points (+8|-1) ago

it's pretty straight forward honestly; say or do whatever you want, but don't openly break laws and cause trouble if you can help it

[–] solar_flare 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Au contraire mon frere, the rules here are not that straight forward. Peep the vagueness:

Rules

These guidelines are intended to keep people safe, protect kids, keep Voat running, and to encourage personal responsibility for what you do on Voat. You must: Keep Everyone Safe: You agree to not intentionally jeopardize the health and safety of others or yourself. Keep Personal Information Off Voat: You agree to not post anyone's sensitive personal information that relates to that person's real world or online identity. Do Not Incite Harm: You agree not to encourage harm against people.

[–] ratsmack 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Yes, please try to contain your anger in a positive way by bringing good content, comments and opinion here to Voat... by being vengeful, you're only hurting yourself.

+ And to the old-timers here, please try to be respectful in response to any perceived rule or culture infractions.

[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

at the end of the day reddit is and always has been the normie and SJW containment site. Enough insufferable people are essentially trapped there and places like tumblr and such by their internet habits and that makes the web a bit more bearable for the rest of us. Shitpost and troll if you must but once you leave then LEAVE. No baggage, they're not worth it and can be safely left alone.
