This transfer window, Weigl and Griezmann. Just those two would have us set for years.

I love Griezmann but where do you see him playing for us. Pogba seems to play best in a three, and Griezmann would be wasted on the wings.

Wherever Rooney plays now. I love Wayne and I'm glad that he's on great form, but how long will it last? I've been burnt so many times.

That's kinda my point. Rooney isn't really a nailed on starter these days, and we seem to be moving on to a 3 in midfield.

That'd be amazing. We can only wish though, as both of them will be very expensive.

140M would get both of them.

Every top club in Europe doesn't want Weigl as they all have that position locked up.

Madrid has Kroos, Barca has Busquest and Gomes, City has Gundogan, Chelsea has Kante, PSG has Verrati, Juve has Pjanic.

The only way United lose Weigl is if they take too long and Bayern buy him to replace Vidal, like they did with Thiago and Sanches.

He's United for the taking, until he's not.

Literally none of those except busquets match his playing style

Not saying they do, but they all have their anchors in the Midfield already.

United is the only one who needs one. Honestly, if Weigl doesn't come to United he would probably go to Munich.

All the players you listed aren't at all similar to Carrick except Busquets.

Juve haven't had a DPL since Pirlo and could easily move for him. City don't have one and could benefit from it. Chelsea have Matic/Kante who usually anchor, but play as destroyers not a playmaker. Fabregas is the closest thing they have. Verratti isn't at all similar to Weigl; Motta is their DLP but he's getting old. Kroos isn't an effective anchor by any means, hence why Casemiro was given the opportunity in the first team.

Bayern would move for him as a replacement to Xabi, not Vidal.

There's clear bias when you say he's "United's for the taking" because that's far from the case. And there's the very likely chance he doesn't even move in the first place.

First of all, I clearly stated that he would probably go to Munich. Never said that he was United sealed.

I said United are the only team that actually are in a actual need for his services.

He could very easily go to City, as Schweinsteiger is his boyhood Idol and he probably doesn't look to fondly on us for that.

My entire argument is that United can get him because they're back in the spot they were when they wanted a CM like Sanches and Thiago and they sat on their thumbs they lost him.

I am no being "biased for United" as I don't even really care if we get him. I would've rather had Gomes, to be honest.

City could look at him to provide competition or to replace Fernandinho. Gundogan plays a bit advanced for City doesn't he.

I agree, but United can offer him the most.

United literally has the best shot to sign him of all the clubs in Europe. United would have to pull another Sanches/Thiago incompetence to lose him...and it would be to Bayern.

Bayern always raids BVB when they start to look a threat.

He plays the same as he did when we last won the league. Until I see him start to lose it keep giving him contracts.

I don't think anyone could replace him if we bought someone anyway. There isn't anyone we can buy that is as complete a DM as him. Passing range, reading of the game both defensively and controlling games. Where are we going to find all that in another player?

[–]Baseball157Pogba[S] 1ポイント2ポイント  (2子コメント)

The main point of my post was that we cannot continue to rely on Carrick. As great as he is, he is going to keep aging. Eventually we need to sign someone who can do the same job. He already cannot play every week, as Jose mentions all the time. We need someone who can do a similar role every week for the future.

[–]blarg2003Januzaj 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

Just like last season, I see no evidence he can't play two games a week.

Weigl is the perfect replacement. Easily the most talented in his position. You could also look at Milan Badelj or Bruno Soriano (highly unlikely given his loyalty to Villarreal + he's old)
