One of the most complete midfielders in EPL history. Glad I was fortunate to watch the league at a time where Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard were putting in overwhelmingly breathtaking performances, and I admire that he stuck with Liverpool through the thick and thin.

Football is about balance not names. By shoehorning Scholes to the left, and playing Lampard and Gerrard together in midfield, we were digging are own grave. Gerrard was significantly better playing with Barry instead of Lampard. And hypothetically, Scholes as a central midfield option, would've fared better alongside Carrick than one of Gerrard or Lampard. In the end, the system didn't suit any of our three midfield maestros.
