We looked at him before and passed. Now he is pretty much frozen out of RM, only making sub appearances late in the game. He is an amazing talent but his attitude might need to be put in check. Do you think he could fit into the team at some point if we made a transfer offer? I am aware we don't really need a CAM at the moment and we have other holes that need to be filled, but if in January he is available would he be worth dropping the big sum to swoop him before another team might make that move? We need some more defensive depth but I'm not sure we can make those moves in January, due to the fact most of players we have been linked to are on a team in CL or their team in playing really well. Just want to see some of your thoughts on the matter! Lets stomp Feyenoord and win this Europa League Group boys!!!

I don't think we need another player out of form. We need players with confidence and winning mentality and I don't think James has those two. And as you say, there are other areas where we could do better with some strengthening

If we seriously consider going for him, Miki's time with us is pretty much done, since James mostly plays as a #10 or on the right wing. Mata has been flourishing under Mou, so Miki would be the real loser in that scenario.

I'd much rather give Miki a chance before spending 60 million on James.

Yeah the way I view his scenario at RM is what is happening to Miki here. I would love for miki to flourish in that RW role for us like he did at BvB. He was such a joy to watch. That way we can use that huge transfer fee he would require for more depth rather than one star. Edit: spelling

They apparently received a bid from us for 80mil or so in the summer before we approached Pogba. But he came out and said he's staying and he'll fight for his place and succeed.

That being said I don't think we really need him. We need a real strong CM/DM to replace Carrick. A player who could let Pogba be creative without having to track back. And another LB to apply pressure on the wings with Martial or Rashford.
