Manchester United fans can give Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic a huge boost by voting the duo into UEFA's 2016 Team of the Year, with the poll now open online via UEFA.com.
The Reds pair are among 40 players – four goalkeepers, 12 defenders, 12 midfielders and 12 forwards – who are in contention to make the final 11. All the nominees were picked by UEFA editorial staff on the basis of their performances for a European club or national team in 2016.
Swedish icon Ibrahimovic has scored eight times in 17 appearances at the start of his United spell, having enjoyed a prolific final season at Paris Saint-Germain, where he scored 50 goals in 51 games in all competitions, including a club-record 38 in Ligue 1.
The striker, who ended his international career after Euro 2016 with a record 62 goals in 116 appearances, has been nominated for the UEFA Team of the Year on 10 occasions – only Cristiano Ronaldo (13) and Lionel Messi (11) have appeared on the shortlist more often.
France midfielder Pogba, who rejoined the Reds from Juventus for a world-record fee in the summer, is shortlisted for a second time, having made the 2015 Team of the Year while playing for the Bianconeri.
The 23-year-old won the Serie A title in each of his four seasons with Juve and, in his final campaign in Turin, he helped them to a second successive league and cup double. He was also a runner-up with France at Euro 2016.
Fans can vote via en.toty.uefa.com until Tuesday 3 January 2017, with the final line-up to be announced two days later on Thursday 5 January.
